1337...there is no 1337 none of us can be 1337 because we are all the same, we are all human. The sooner we realize that, the better off we'll be.

Two of the three things that really turned me off from MK:DA were the sounds that they chose and the animation of the characters. The sound always seemed so generic. The punches and kicks never felt as solid and hard hitting as they have in previous games, regardless of the overall sound quality.
With animations, everyone seemed to be too thick. When I saw Kitana's animation, the first thing I noticed were her clunky thunder-thighs. Looks like that do not convey a fluid feeling in character movement.
The same problem is why I did not appreciate Scorpion and Jax's looks. They seemed too weighed down to have the agility to be decent fighters. How many martial arts shows do you see where the people come out wearing a whole friggin' tank. That's what it felt like when I saw the designs for Scorpion and Jax. Scorpion didn't give off the feeling of a ninja to me. His look did not feel Asian at all.
For the most part, I liked the look and texture of the fabrics. That's the only thing to me that made Scorpion's look somewhat standable.
So, what are everyone else's thoughts on this?

I think it's all ok.
Although i agree on the punch/kick sounds, they should have added more sounds when someone is punched in the stomach and they gasp for breath.
I liked the way Scorpion looked and he looked like a ninja to me (although i have never seen a real ninja). But he seemed to muscular to me.
I also think that de ladies breasts were unbelievable big.
The music was ok, nothing special i hope when mk6 comes out they have brought back the caracter select music from mk1

whenever mortal kombat stop recycling animations for the characters (i hate it when everyone on the game can do the same winning pose) then i'll be truly happy.

When I first poped in DA and I saw the - cough - animation, I knew the title was going to have issues. I often try to convince myself that the animation was simply a stylistic choice. Heh, I really want ot believe this, but I doubt I should. Even fundamental things, such as seconday motion and proper motion paths, seam to have been put on hold. Totally linear. That's why I deal with the issue and thought of stylization, because so much fluidity was replaced with linearity. For a game which was suposudley motion captured, their is no excuse for the way it moves. It's odd, because the ambient mood is wonderfull, but the animation - or lack there-of - destroys it.
Audio wise, I have the standard complaint of rehased voices. You'd think in two years they could give each fighter there own vocal tones. Maybe I'm asking to much. I mean, my buddies and I have sat in the vioce over booth and taken some 50 or so sound samples in an hour. All of which could be altered in a day sitting at Sound Forge. Please. And where's the music? Give me some hardcore industrial beats, some old school techno like the movies. Not this Adema crap that I don't even hear in game.
Then agian, I slam on DA a lot. Not because I'm a hater, but because I want the franshise to succeed and succeed while going in the new direction the dev team has chosen. But, hell, if your going to promote "styles" as one of your main features, then give them style, give them uniqeness. It's funny, really, I enjoy watching the animimation in those stick flash movies more than I do the animation in DA

I just feel like they moved away from mk3 through mk4 and everything in between, its a different age now, and many fighters are in 3d and animation and audio wise they are trying to move away from the old. Peace!
