I was just thinking, with all of the amazing ideas that everyone is coming up with, let's just pretend for a second that Midway could pullthem all off. How do you think it would feel to have MK on more than one disc. There could be regular MK on one disc, Konquest on another, online spcific play on another, and maybe other features on yet another.

I think that multiple discs could have many ups and downs to it. What do you all think?

If they want to please the many fans i think there is no alternative.

I hope they will include a bonus disc, ti it would be a sign of saying that they understood what we would like and that they tried to include as much as they can in that title

The discs used in current consoles hold an incredible amount of data. The GCN disks are the only ones that may need more than one for a huge game. As I recall Resident Evil used two discs. But the PS2 and XBOX use dvd format disks which hold well over 3 gigs. No fighting game is going to come even close to filling that up no matter what they add to it.

Yeah, I thought about that, I asked the same question in the chatroom. Here's a little of what we came up with:

NovaStarr: What do you guys think of MK6 being on more than 1 disc.

CorrezZio: ... sure, if they keep disc changing to a minimum.

NovaStarr: I was thinking with all of the ideas people are coming up with, they could end up on more than one disc.

The_Purple_Bunny: hmm...

The_Purple_Bunny: interesting.

NovaStarr: Like online on one, Konquest on another, etc.

NovaStarr: All saved on HD or memory card to give you better gameplay on the normal game disc.

NovaStarr: But you play each whenever you want.

NovaStarr: So it would be up to you how much yourr character advances and how often you change discs.

CorrezZio: hmm... too complicated :) this isn't Final Fantasy :)

NovaStarr: But for those who it's too confusing for, they could stick the the normal game disc.

NovaStarr: They would miss all the cool quircks, but well, they shouldn't be so lazy :P

As for the price tag, I don't know. I think it would be around the usual $50-70. Because, if you think about RPGs, they are always multiple disc, but they are still priced like other games.

i actually think mortal kombat should be on 2 disks. And I actually think it should cost above a 100 dollars. The more expensive it is, the better quality, or people wont buy it. Heck ive got moey to blow bring it on.

Yeah, but not everyone does. I think that wil hurt Midway more than help.

just MK6 on one disc with all the modes, online, etc. But in the krypt all your stuff will be saved onto a memory card so that when you put the other disc in you'll have all the comics, games, pictures, etc. And if the old MKs were unlockable you could play them online.

Yeah, that's what I was trying to say, heh. But there could also be discs for stuff that aren't mandatory to the game, like fanart and the like. But, overall, more than one disc seems like a nice way to go. Two sounds like the ideal number overall, but having more than one disc will make believe more that they were actually making more of an effort to please the fans.

Everything can fit in one disc. Having multiple discs for bunus stuff or different modes would be useless.

Now that I think about it, one disk is better for my collection. A double pack would screw things up kinda like grand theft auto. I dont know, it will just feel weird.
