One thing I was a bit dispointed with on MKDA was the lack of interactive fighting. Punch.. OWWW! Kick OWWWW.. Punch... Fall.
The only interactivity was the weapon stab where the weapon stayed in the other character. Throws were common and uninspiring.
After playing Prince of Persia-Sands of Time I realized how stuck MKDA was to the original format of 2d fighting. Granted it was 3d, but still so
Sands of Time might be an adventure game, but the fighting part is superb. It is graceful, yet powerful. You can run up and over the enemy and slash them from behind. When there are multiple targets. You just point the thumbstick in the direction of the one you want and attack. Helpful when you have 4 enemies around you and one is about to attack. You can hit him and it stuns him and move back to the original target for the kill. The camera follows the action beautiful and you can use the right thumbstick to move the camera yourself. Left thumbstick movements and attacks give you all sorts of different attacks. Granted you are only attacking with a sword the many different attacks are greatly varied.
Let's just say that the fighting is almost movie like. I know there are a few other games that fight with some really good interactivity. But Sands is by far the best. Anyone know how the new Jet Li and Bond games are?
If you get a chance, rent it and check it out. I rented it and now and going to guy it.
I know that I am comparing 2 different types of games, but the fighting incorporated within Sands almost equates to a straight fighter. The story of MK is an adventure. We should feel like we are playing an adventure.
I would hope that MKD would have a lot more interactivity and feel to it. Time for MK to grow up and expand.

I have to agree with you. If the fighting in MKD was anything like Prince of Persias it would be astounding. It would also be like watchinga film if two experts were palying against each other as we'd see parries, flips, and all manner of different combos being pulled off. I think it'd be great. given the fighting styles that are in the game now, it would be brilliant!

Imagine playing online if the fight/camera system was like sands of time or even better.
