Which one is better in terms of port and just a handheld version of the game itself?

I have my own opinion of course but wondering what anyone else is thinking about it.

If I were to choose I would have to go with MKU.Its a better port with extra characters and if you minus the load times which were in the regular ones anyway its stays faithful from where its coming from.

Now you take UMK for the ds and by all means is a great game itself in many ways. But the one thing it was lacking was being arcade perfect in the sense of not being a port. There was things changed over in a way that you lost some of the feeling from UMK3 and granted it was probably the only way you could play it on the ds but still.Did the attraction mode really have to be cut out??Probably not,but it was anyhow. So if you are not going to add anything to make the game better then the one thing you don't do is cut things out from the original. What they should have done is put UMK3 without cutting anything out from the original and then if you had room for extra stuff go ahead but don't lose anything just to make room for stuff that isn't exactly that important. If you had a perfect exact port of the arcade version like XBLA does thats worth 30$ on a hand held within itself, the puzzle kombat really isnt what people are going to buy the game for.

You know if you put both games side by side and see where their coming from you really have to go with mku in my own opinion cause it stays faithful and you didn't exactly lose anything from where its coming from.Granted both games have the puzzle kombat but it isn't something that would make either games better.

So in short I think MKU is a better handheld version for mk but in UMK(DS)case thats a better version of UMK3 on a handheld and second better version coming behind the xbox arcade.

So both have pros and cons and while I may not go into detail with explaning all I rather have MKU on the go rather then UMK.

It's MK:Unchained for the SONY PSP,basically it's MK: Deception with some adds like extra characters.

On topic.MK:U coud be a good game and port but UMK3 owns MK:U.

Let's just look at the games they were ported from?
UMK3 vs MKD
Which was the better game? UMK3 by far. and as such UMK is much better than MKU. While they both had more or less "Memorize or die" kombo systems, you could at least get by, and play with any character in UMK3 without fumbling over controls, and being forced into the kombo system.
MKD was taking the story in a good direction, and so was MK3; Zombie Kang though? Sub-Zero the 5th was plugged into UMK3 simply as a pallet swap to add more characters and never had an impact on the actual story, one could even say he didn't really exist in the cannon story.
UMK (DS) Hands down.

The loading times in Unchained ruined it horribly.

I prefer MKU, it has konquest, puzzle kobat, and chess kombat, and finally, better gameplay (the ACTUAL kombos instead of dial up are my preference)

Mortal Kombat Unchained has ungodly load times and the camera in Konquest sucks.

Unchained should inspire game developers everywhere to somehow lay to rest load times.
