meat was a character skin in mk4, you had to beat group mode as everyone and he will be unlocked (for that gaming session, if you restart you'll have to go through all the characters again), and about mk:d, so far besides the twelve unlockable characters (jade, kenshi, sindel, havik, raiden, li mei, noob-smoke, tanya, shujinko, hotaru, kira and liu kang), no, no other unlockable characters are knowned.

Monster is not Scorpion. They named him "Monster" because he was a throw-away character who's only purpose was get his ass kicked by Shujinko. Which is also why they didn't bother to give him his own moves and basically made him look like a silver Scorpion.
Monster was the Elder Gods' champion and they sent him to stop Shujinko but he failed. Scorpion is his replacement.

i think that monster is scorpion because the storyline goes that scorpion is the elder gods champion so maybe they give him armour or something

Interesting.... but even if monster ISNT Scorpion... maybe he is some other Realm-Travelling Spy.... who just got caught in the action as Shujink comes through...

I'm not saying that I'm 100% yer wrong, but I'm pretty sure. Think about.
Clue#1: Scorpion looks very similar to Scorpion, I know, it was already mentioned, but keep reading.
Clue#2: When I went to that site where you can hear the people of Chaosrealm's voices backward, one of them states Scorpion is the Champion of the Elder Gods.
Clue#3: If you get an AR Max, and set it so it switches Scorpion with Monster, he has the same styles and moves as Scorpion!!
Either it's Scorpion, or another member of the Shirai-Ryu. At least, thats what I think.

I played Scorpion in the "Monster" Outfit @ the "GamesConvention here in germany (summer 2004). Monster was planed as Scorpions alt. Outfit , but they cut it off for the MK4 classic one! Later,I was talking with John Vogel via Mail (month ago), i ask him about that!

All you have to do is connect Scorp's MKDA ending and his MKD bio and it praticaly spells it out for ya! Same moves, characteristics (size etc.) PLUS the storyline, Monster = Scorpion after he was transformed by the elder's...

Scorpion was turned into the Champion of the Elder Gods AFTER Deadly Alliance, meaning it was just recently. Shujinko met Monster LONG BEFORE Deadly Alliance, meaning it was a long time ago. If MOnster was Scorpion, how come when Shujinko meets Scorpion in the Netherealm Scorpion doesn't just try to kill him? Was he time travelling?

Like I said, Monster was a throw-away character. A pointless mini-boss for you to fight in Konquest. Why give a meaningless character his own unique moves and appearence? Had everyone forgetten that the MK creators are lazy? Have we forgetten that Smoke was also once a pallete swipe of Scorpion, moves and all?
AR replaces Scorpion with Monster. It also replace Scorpion with Drahmin, Kitana, Kung Lao, Onaga, etc.
I repeat, Monster is nobody. A filler, nothing more. A meaningless filler who doesn't deserve this much debate. He's no better than Chameleon or Meat.

Monster was going to be Scorp in a time travel plot, but since it was too confusing to some people and Monster looks almost nothing like Scorp. so, (this part is my inferrince) at the very last minute they gave him the first name that popped off the top of their heads and gave Scorp the crappy MK4 alternate.

ummm.....why did Midway named there ninja's Jade, Rain, Scorpion, and Sub-Zero??? couldnt they come up a better name then these???
I mean, Jade is a color, Rain is a weather, Scorpion is an insect and Sub-Zero is a tempurture (sp?).
really, i think Monster is an ok name. it does fit the look. and Meat too.
