Mortal Kombat Armageddon Help Center : The Trilogy

Well since Versatile has retired from MKO and i have heard alot of people still needing help,I figured i would remake this thread to help answer all of your questions.

Please guys No Flaming or Spamming this Thread.

This thread is simply to just help out those who are still uncertain about certain aspects of the game. So you can post any questions you may have here,Instead of making other threads.

So what exactly would you like to know?

I don't have anything too important to ask right now but I'll still bring up buffering for certain characters just to humor you and keep this thread in sight.

Dai, Sub, and Kabal have the ability to buffer some things and I believe that Raiden(right, D3 into Teleport?) can as well. Other than those four, who can get a reliable buffer of their moves. Also, what exactly can Kabal get the Flash off of? U2-buffered Flash or...?

I'm sure I'll come up with some other questions in the future since I'm always pondering, though this should do in order to get the thread rolling.

you can buffer anything, as long as the recovery end animation doesnt finish, truth is, buffering is near impossible anyway in mka, they really toned it down, since jutsu is gone, mostly.

theres not much more useful stuff other then what you mentioned, but bo's puke is also up there, this coming from the best bo in mkd/mka, his best move as well. ermacs lift as well...

u2 kabal is not safe, you should be jumping forward or jumping back after it, but yes, that could work, u2 spin, its rather slow though, dont ya think?

you read my mind, booya

heres what i was gonna post right afterwards.

How To Air Cancel Online:

to save the speech, air canceling online is easy, you have to mash the buttons to speed up the animations, more so then you would offline, obviously

112(22)113(44444444) CS 4 (44444)

you have to start mashing 4 during the 113 animation to catch up the frames missing when you play online, the CS frame is very very hard online to catch, but the key is to to press CS as soon as the animation for 4 would begin. that way you start dropping instantly. then to drop faster, mash 4 five or six times. most people will not press it right as they land and think that is enough, you have to press TILL YOU ARE ON THE GROUND.


Parry Canceling :

this one is simple, you simply slide your finger from back to down and hold block, sometimes the animation will make you stand for a few frames afterwards so be careful you dont accidently do a high/mid instead of a low after it. Parry Canceling is completly safe and increases your speed so that you sidestep with ease. a good fakeout as well, but usually does more harm then good, example: instead of parrying, you cancel it, and get hit. not good.

it shouldnt be used any other way, but most importantly is for juggles if you skillful enough

the easiest way to parry canceling during a juggle is to start holding back during the animation of your first juggle. if the attack has a back 1/2/3/4 move assigned to it you simply let go of back and press block, then attack so that you dont do the back move on accident.

if not, just simply hold back teh entire time starting on the first part of the juggle, theres not many who benefit from this glitch. espicially online. but characters who can are

ermac
sub zero
scorpion
sektor
sindel
kenshi
mavado
kobra
ashrah
sareena

and a few others

i will list the combos later

im tempted to post more, but heres one last one that booya mentioned, this wont take long


Glitch Throw:

simply enough, you just press 1/2/3/4 in the air and as close to the ground as possible, then tap throw on the first frame you land, this also makes your move/throw recover faster, so if you miss, you can escape rather quickly. and its that simple

if you catch someone in the corner and they have jumpover free throw ( bo rai chos 22111, jax 1122, ashrahs 3422 ) simply jumpover them and kick as low to the ground so that they cant block the jumpkick ( they can block low if the jumpkick connects and it acts a mid ) then tap throw, this gives some huge wall damage for alot of characters, even a few midscreen.

Glitch Throw: deep jump kick, tap throw

SZ2, buffering is inputting the command of a special move or super move while performing another move, most commonly a simple poke. This means that usually the buffered move comes out *immediately* after the poke.

I'll provide you a visual aid, Street Fighter 3rd Strike being played by Daigo Umehara and Alex Valle at Evolution 2006. Around 31 seconds into the vid, notice the red Ken parrying then doing a couple jabs-->hadoken-->super move. That's a buffer, and that shit is sexy as Hell might I add. A buffer in MK:A would be Sub's D3 poke into a clone.

Jutsuing/Quick Recovering is pressing D/B or F/B when you are knocked down, from my searching the site and reading the guides for Mortal Kombat: Deception, jutsu's were used after something like a breaker. You'd immediately stand up to hit your opponent with a combo or poke(Scorp's F1 anyone?) or possibly stay in the crouch position so as to avoid a throw attempt.

From my conversations with Mr.S the Jutsu of MK:D is gone, I guess something more simplified and less useful remains?

Well to answer your question SZ2.

Jutsu is a technique you use to dodge freethrows. The reason it really shouldnt be a concern is cause it is not able to be used in MKA. MKD however,It was a very good technique.

The easiest way to explain "Jutsu" is lets say your opponent has Bo and they do frw+3. Well after they do this you immediately mash either back+down,or back+forward. Its the same as autocover but it has to repeated. If done correctly,You will be able to duck the freethrow.

Now Buffering is a whole different thing. Basically to buffer a move is lets say you are using Drahmin and you do 1,1,cs. Now in order to make a move come out faster you would buffer. So instead of cs 1,1,cs. You would do cs+1,1,cs. Anytime you go to do a move immediately after a move,Its called Buffering.

A buffered TSDrop with Dai will come out faster than a regular one and so on and so forth for all the other characters.

I got one that will take you a while. What makes the top 10 characters.....well.....top 10 or high-tier, if you will. I mean what makes them better than the rest besides M.O.B. What do they got that the rest of the roster don't? I'm just asking this out of curiosity.

I just know Sub-Zero's, Scorpion's, and Shinnok's.

Sub-Zero- 3 in Shotokan (better to do 1,1,3 then free grab)
Scorpion- 1 in Hapkido (I think 2 is a free grab too, not sure though)
Shinnok- 2 in Kuo Shou (although some say 2 in weapon is a free grab)

Agreed RJ about Reptile, hehe. He's always been a crappy character since MKDA. Although he had Hung Gar but it wasn't as good when Baraka or Drahmin had it. Not to mention that shitty ass Crab style. OMG, that style sucked sooooooo bad, lol.

You're joking right?confusedwow Ok Hung Gar when Reptile was decent. But his weapon was still unsafe like in MKA and Crab was so bad it was just ridiculous. Crab had no mids whatsoever. And its distance as far as hitting was short since he only hit you with his elbows. He was a cool character though but as far as fighting goes he was probably mid-low to mid IMO.
