Mortal Kombat Armageddon Tier List Discussion: The Long Process Begins...

The topic name explains it all folks.

Suggestions...

1. I think this should be done by 5-8 people at max working on this. These people should represent the best of the best at this point in time. High level players only.

2. Let's try to keep this as private as possible. Influence from players who aren't that good would just slow the process. With that said, AIM names would be appreciated.

3. I'd like to think that if I, the youngest player on here, can co exist with people I don't really like for a project you guys can, too. Whether I like you or don't like you should not matter. What should matter is your knowledge and skill level. Let's make this as easy a road as possible.

4. Since there's such a large number of characters, putting them in order from 1-60 would be unneccessary and foolish in my opinion. With that said, I feel the tier list should be like this..

~Super Tier~(I don't like using the term God in reference to anything but God himself, but you guys can name this whatever you want).

*insert MOB here*

~Top Tier~

*insert 10 best characters in order here*

~Upper Tier~

*insert next 15 best characters here*

~Mid Tier~

*Insert ___ amount of average characters here*

~Lower Tier~

*Insert ___ amount of mediocre at best characters here*

~Bottom Tier~

* Insert garbage characters here*

The only tier sections I feel should really focus on order is the Super Tier and Top Tier. There's just so many characters and so many arguments would take place if we tried to order them all. Obviously, not all of the mid tier characters are equal. For example, I consider both Johnny Cage and Kai to be mid tier characters, but to me it's obvious JC is better and should be put ahead of Kai. However, if there's a heated argument and we just can't come to a stalemate, put them both near one another in a random order.

5. As lame as this may sound, I believe a voting system will be neccessary to decide who gets to work on this project. Lets all choose 8 people besides ourselves, and whatever 8 have the most votes by Sunday will be apart of the project.

I think I've covered everything, so with that said, here is who I vote for.

Sareena, Jarek and Mavado are definitely top tier. Quan Chi could probably be up there too. Tanya also. Noob is from what I've seen as is Scorpion (damn you) Mileena should be considered.

Jade I would say is mid tier or upper tier. Kira is probably up here too. I still say she owns Mileena in battle. Kitana and Sonya are mid or upper tier. Hotaru I would say is up here too. Sub-Zero I would say is upper tier though some say top.

Mid tiers would include Shinnok, Ashrah, Mokap and some tohers. I'll come back to this.

I note alot of people saying Chameleon is top tier material but everyone who has used him vs me has done a bad job of showing it. Plus his sword combos tend to whiff quite a bit too.

No offense, but you guys seem way far back on your strategies, and this tier list is actually with American players in mind. I would assume strategies and stuff are different over there anyway, right?

Like in American, SF3:3S tiers are way different from SF3:3S tiers in Japan.

You're right, it is lame. It should be 5 at most in my view.

I only feel a few players are at the level right now where they should even be talking tiers. Sorry if my faith in the community is not as great as yours.

I'll let you guys decide on the number. I just created the topic, but this project is just as much the community's as it is mine.

hmm this is a really good idea. but it seems a lil bit to erly. to me the games hasent been out long enough. alot of people just got it, and many people probly havent masterd there players yet. at least if you wait a mounth or two. most people will see whuts whut and who def beats who. so there will be less to argue about. this just seems like, it would save you a lil bit of frustration. like i said this is a vary good idea anyway. peace

Perhaps it is a little premature, but can't we adjust the tiers if more things and strategies are uncovered? Shit was still being discovered in MKD WAY AFTER it's prime. It did not stop us from creating a tier for it early in the game's lifetime.

to the UK players to are having problems vs jarek~

JUMP AT HIM.

he has no mids in dragon~ they took away the one subby had in mkd

his b,f+3 special hits mid, but if his foe jumps at him instead of away or just in the air they'll pass him up and he'll end up in front of them facing backwards ready to get owned!!

jarek is middle tier at best a good decent balenced character. that lasso move looks good & gives good damage, but its so so bad

Vers~ Kai mid tier =-o let me see this kai you have there cause im in shock some one would say this. this way i can learn how to use him.

what ever amount of folks and who you guys want working on this is up to you folks.

for me getting on aim would be hard for me since i work the 2nd shift at my job, i can post often from work buti cant get on aim from there.

so yea maybe we should have the long discussion here in this thread.

ALSO i want to add that this list can be done now. there is a huge difference between when MKD came out and when MKA came out. we all know how to play the game now. unlike when mkd 1st came out most of us if not ALL of us were still noobs. playing at home is nothing like playing online vs many many people. this is why who ever is good now at MKA will prolly be good 6 to 12 months from now.

im almost done w/ the unparried low attacks and miods for each character. ill post them here when im done. im trying to figure out whos left 60 characters and i know im missing a few of them. I LOL TODAY i totally forgot about poor old havik, i forgot he was in teh game until synik pick him vs me. i was like oh yea i remember him LOL

dan you cant hit what you cant catch and thats why i havnt lost to mavado since the first week. I stay back let him fuck around he can do nothing if i block low and randomly throw a projectile. he comes close, i run further

IDK have you faced any one from TKO more then once? or have you faced any one from L7? we faced but once and it was the first time i faced noob and kung lao. 10-6 isnt that bad given the fact that NOOB is the anti Tanya, and i had no clue what he was about.

I know I'm from PAL and you guys have had the game longer and prob know more shit right now, BUT I have to agree with Vers on this...

KAI is definitely not low tier. Played right he can be a nasty opponent!

I've worked out some wicked tactics and strategies with him, and he surprises people online over here cos not many people play him.

That list is very inaccurate. We are not in the tier list making stage yet, Karate. You can, however, vote for who you think should be apart of the project. That would be smarter on your behalf.

whether or not i get picked, ill still be making the "tier list" my next project as i plan on learning everyone and start playing online for real

for whats not discovered yet, i assure you, what is left to find you will see in a couple of days when i release the mka movie, youve already seen it chris, me and karate were doing it last night, all of tko knows about it. all that determines how much of a effect itll have on combos is L A G

and hopefully that wont play that much of a part on it, except if you have to play my shitty ass connection, hehe.. getting cable soon though
