KoRn/Genitorturers/Otep/Nightwish/Children of Bodom/Iron Maiden/
SlipKnot/BioHazard/Disturbed/Orgy..... and a couple of more artists from
different genres would do a good job on this project.

I think if there ever is a soundtrack it will be music from the game, like the MK1/2 soundtrack and the MK3/4 soundtrack. This one could be MK5/6 which would be kool. They never confirmed a soundtrack but I would sure like one.

It would be pretty sweet. I think Arch Enemy and Children of Bodom is all they would need, though.

Bodom in MK7???
Altough I like Bodom (classic metal and black metal bores me to death, Nu metal brought something refreshing dough) I can hardly imagine that with the frontmans vocals the game would be playable.
Example: MK needs orienal music-ergo a pentaton sound system- which could not be found in metal (-KoRn experimented with this kinda thing, well, lets say they did a good job with it-but only a good job.)
Black metal singing alongside with any other singing would ruin MK. But the instrumental parts are another thing to discuss.

All of these metal songs, they sound the same. They should have some music like they do in the actual MK D soundtrack in the game, with that badass background. They have a couple of cool tracks on there that sound a little like Mogwai, more instrumental music. It would give the game better vibes.

Becouse theese aren't rock songs...
Half of them metal, the second part is death/black and the third is
alternative and nu/industrial. There is a huge difference between them in
both lyrics/guitar utilisation/rythm and other stuff. Hell, basicly the term
"rock" embodies over the 3/5-th of musical styles in history.
I'm a musician myself... and an artist. :D
besides, I cannot make out the difference between hiphop and rap. Now
they REALY DON'T show versatility. But enlighten me, becouse I'm from
the tolerant seed and I often listen to Busta Rhymes.
Sorry, but the new millenias rap culture just suxxx (respect to the few,
realy few, who DO care about the artistic workouts of current day musical
culture).

Personally, I think that each arena should have its own music and that the music for each stage should fit those stages. I wouldn't want the music to be from bands or something like that. I'd want it to be composed music like it's always been in the MK games...something original, know what I mean? For most part, I want the music to have that asian mythological ambience to it and it should have a dark and evil feel to it as well. I think some metal type music would be good as well as long as it has that MK flavor to it.

Well, actually i didn't named those band to actually give their songs to MK, but create new ones for them. For example I can hardly think that a nu metal song like Here to stay from KoRn would fit in. However the artist could come up with something suprising for the game.

I did not mean band music, I just mean that the musicians in theese bands should team up and COMPOSE the music. It doesn't have to be necesarily band music. (no singing, and their advisory for the dynamics of the background musics)

If MK had music like that in it, I'd be playing in silence.

I think the only way to do it is to take the existing music from the game(s) for a soundtrack and have big bands/dj's remix/remake 'em. I could totally see a band like Korn doing their own killer heavy version of the original Mortal Kombat I theme! LOL That'd be sweet... grin

You know I was thinking that theese artist could show up with an oriental ambience done in some very interesting aproach. try the pentaton sund system on guitars. And MK3 didn't had any oriental influence in it at all-maybe becouse it was focused in a city in America and Outworld.
They don't have to be metal songs, but intensive, ass-kicking hard, energetic and melodic themes. I agree, if SlipKnot were in a MK game surely it would ruin it's atmosphere.
Try playing a rapsong from 50 Cent or Britney Spears near me, and you
earned yourself a Fatality!!! grin
