THE WOW FACTOR EXPLAINED:

Mortal Kombat always provides an interesting mix of characters with each new release, often then are ones that we come to love (Baraka) and others that we find dont right absurd (Bo Roi cho). What I would like to see in Mortal kombat deception is that each new character present the amazment and wonder that many of the new fighters in MK2 sparked.

I want to look at the selection board and say "hey i want to know who that guy is and whats his story:" In MKDA i felt that most of the new characters didnt offer much appeal. I would like to see kombat takes some concepts from history and mythlogy and combine when finalising the final set of new characters.

I want to see some strange new fighters. Not just humans with wings attached. Remember Kombat is about fighters from different realms and I am sure not all inhabitants look human. what I would like to see is some influnces from Greek mythology, perhaps a viking type character and some notions from african mythlogy.

If a characters is vampire then make then look like it. give them claws and fangs. Every culture has a notion of vampire myth and i have seen plent y of designs that would have better suited nitara than glued on wings.

No drunk guys please. No buzzing flies. Lets seem some new characters that gave us the same wow factor as Ermac, baracka, rain and Cyrax did. I mean the only new character i would like to see back from MKDA would be Malvado.

I could'nt agree more, fireblade. I was just about to post this same thing. There was definitely something missing from MK:Deadly Alliance. I, honestly was not very impressed, because of the way some things were executed (played out characters making unneccesary returns [*cough* Johnny Cage...]) although there were some redeeming factors. I can say that they are certainly on the right track.
This game the potential to become the greatest fighting game, in the world).

I think that there are only several small steps that they need to take.

* Elaborate more, or put more emphasis on the characters themselves (making them seem more important), and thier storylines (give more details)

* Make the fighting system more complex/strategic

* include a little more variety/diversity (music, costumes, arenas, etc...)

* Give the fighting system more versatility (leaving the gameplay open for variety)

**There is also a level of taboo that deperately needs to return to the series. I'll give an example. The fatality mode, in Deadly Alliance was set up like it was another fighting style (by giving it a stance), which made them seem like yesterday's news, so to speak. And the introduction/music did'nt help either. I think they should make the fatalities in such a way that when you perform one, you get nervous, as if you just stepped on dangerous territory, or done something forbidden (just my opinion).

how ironic you choose mavado for he is one of the new characters i felt lacked any wow facter and was just a lame remnant of kabal. i think mk6's rosster of fighters is already more impressive than mk5's so i am wowed. sindel and mileena...mmm...thank you, boon.
