Well, I figure I've lurked the boards long enough now and have decided to actually post. Seeing how it seems to be the flavor of the day, I've decided to post my version of MK6. Keep in mind, this isn't what I would like to see in the official MK6, this is just my own little brain working its creative juices and in way reflects what I hope Midway does for MK6 (granted, a few things I guess would be nice, heh).

So, here it is, for all to criticise and scream your hatred about it and how it would never ever work. As for timeline, this takes place during the same time MKDA happens. And please excuse any typos :)


Mortal Kombat : Double Jeopardy (working title)

Storyline:
Created by Shao Kahn from the souls of dead warriors, Ermac was thought destroyed after the Earth Realm warriors defeated Kahn. In truth, when Shao Kahn fell, his power over Ermac ended. Created by evil, Ermac was evil, and escaped the notice of everyone. He slipped away to the Taihaiken Realm, absorbing it's most powerful magical force and becoming the realm's cruel ruler. He soon learned of the demise of Shinnok and the loss of his amulet to Quan Chi. When Quan Chi and Shang Tsung formed the Deadly Alliance, Ermac knew that the gateway to many realms, Earth, could not defend against two attacks at once. He also knew the Deadly Alliance would be considered a greater threat than he was. He planned to invade the Earth Realm while it's champions were busy fighting against Quan Chi and Shang Tsung.

When Ermac moved to invade, Raiden became aware of it, cursing himself for stepping down from Elder God status too soon. He could not be drawn from the renewed threat of Quan Chi and Shang Tsung. With the strange dissappearance of the wind god, Fujin, the Earth seemed doomed. He pleaded with the Elder Gods to give the Earth Realm a fighting chance, and after much convincing, the Elder Gods ressurrected Fudo, god of fire. Raiden knew they did this more to silence his constant demands than any other reason, but he was grateful none the less. He charged Fudo with gathering the Earth Realm warriors who were not yet ready to confront a threat such as the Deadly Alliance, but had a chance against a force like Ermac's. Fudo was soon joined in his quest by Kojin, goddess of the trees. Together, they enforced a new Mortal Kombat tournament, bringing forth the Earth Realm's other few chosen warriors and also future chosen warriors, whose time had now come early.

Ermac used the tournament to attract more souls to feed his very being, and indeed, contestants entered the tournament under the pretenses that is was just another world championship. With the advantage of Earth's greatest fighters dealing with the Deadly Alliance, the deaths of Lui Kang and Shao Kahn, not to mention Raiden stepping down from Elder God status, Ermac can taste the victory that will soon surly be his. He ensured the odds were tipped in his favor even more by bringing with him lethal Taihaiken warriors, creating Ton'Torok, and bringing forth the wicked Holy Nun from the Nether Realm.

If the Earth Realm fails against either Ermac or against the Deadly Alliance, then all realms linked to the Earth Realm gateway are doomed. Should they fail against both, two evils will war for dominance, destroying the world forever. Failure is not an option. Kombat begins...

Playable Fighters:
CHRIS - Earth Realm Fighter - Fooled into the new tournament with his cousin by Ermac, Fudo later convinces them both of the great danger their world now faces, and to help defend it. Though they do so reluctantly, and much to the chargrin of the more experienced combatants of Mortal Kombat, who feel the battle is not for such amatuers.
Styles: Tae Kwon Do, Kung Fu

ECYLA - Earth Realm Warrior - A martial arts instructor, Ecyla has won various tournaments in the past, but this one is far more than she expected. She is determined to perform beyond her best, despite the opinions of the more accomplished warriors for good.

FUDO - God of Fire - Guides the Earth Realm Warriors. Ressurrected by the elder gods, after much convincing by Raiden. Along with Kojin, he leads the Earth Warriors against Ermac.
Styles: Agni Kempo,
Alignment: Good

GUARD - Agent Of Shang Tsung - Shang Tsung reanimates the corpse of a palace guard killed during the 10th tournament with the soul of warrior from his own collection and charges it with assisting and protecting Red Cap, but also to kill him should he fail his mission. But there more to this guard than Shang Tsung realises...

HOLY NUN - Ermac's Sorceress - Centuries ago, a nun from Earth became addicted to the black arts, and has been tainted by its power ever since. Ermac pulled her free from the Nether Realm, where she had been banished to centuries before in exchange for her loyalty. She agreed, for now.
Weapon: Chains
Alignment: Evil

HURRICANE - Taihaiken Realm Warrior - One of Taihaiken's greatest warrior fights alongside Ermac in his quest to overthrow the Earth Realm, though Ermac suspects betrayal from her.
Alignment: Evil

INSECT - Taihaiken Realm Warrior - Fights loyally for Ermac, thirsting for power and glory. He has been promised sole ruling of the Taihaiken Realm by Ermac.
Alignment: Evil

JADE - Edenia Realm Warrior - Sent by Queen Sindel to defend the Earth realm in the tournament, knowing that if it fell, Edenia could well again also.
Styles: Pentjak Silet, Tarung Derajat
Weapon: Staff
Alignment: Good

JODIE - Earth Realm Fighter - Same as Chris. Jodie is Chris' cousin and friend.
Styles: Savate, San Jitsu
Weapon: Balisong
Alignment: Good

KAI - Earth Realm Warrior - After learning of Lui Kang's death, he went with Kung Lao to avenge his friend. However, Raiden gave Kai the task of assisting Fudo in the fight against Ermac.
Alignment: Good

KEE ZAO - Shaolin Fighter - An American baby raised by the Shaolin Temple monks. Trained by them, he now fights in their name against the new menace.
Weapon: Crossbow
Alignment: Good
(A terrible terrible cliche, I know)

KOJIN - Goddess of Trees - One of many gods who doesn't consider humans to be of no concern, but one of few who is willing act on that ideal despite the damage they've done to her forests.
Alignment: Good
(I know it's probably much too weird, but the visual of her in my mind is too cool to ignore)

MANTICORE - Taihaiken Realm Mercenary - Hired by an unknown to slip through Ermac's tight security to fight alongside the Earth warriors in an attempt to win back Taihaiken's freedom.
Weapon: Gim
Alignment: Neutral / Good

MATT - Earth Realm Warrior - The day he dropped out of high school, Fudo appeared before him and teleported him to the location of the tournament. He doesn't want any part of the tournament. Fudo only hopes this reluctant chosen one learns the importance of the Earth warriors mission before it's too late.
Alignment: Neutral / Good

MEAT - Damned Warrior - A warrior forever damned to exist as a zombie. No one knows why Meat is taking part in the tournament, though there is rumor he seeks to be restored human. Where his motives or allegiance stands is unknown.
Styles: Undead,
Alignment: Neutral
(yeah, yeah this MK4 secret character sucked, but I liked the concept at least)

NEGOS - Earth Realm Fighter - Like Chris, Jodie and Ecyla, Anthony Negos signed on for the tournament thinking it was another championship. Unlike the others though, he has no interest in defending his world. He fights in the tournament only because he believes himself to be the best and wants to prove it.
Styles: Tiger,
Alignment: Neutral

NIGHTWOLF - Earth Realm Warrior - Called upon by Fudo, Nightwolf again fights to defend the Earth Realm.
Weapon: Tomahawks
Alignment: Good

RAIN - Outworld Warrior - After the fall of Shao Khan at the hands of the Earth realm for the second time, Rain left his service and struck out on his own. He isn't interested in anyone's fight but his own. He seeks to overthrow Ermac and consume his power, making it his own.
Alignment: Neutral

RED CAP - Agent Of Shang Tsung - Learning of Ermac's rise to power, Shang Tsung sends an assassin to destroy him. Tsung does not entirely trust the mercenary, and sends with him a zombie guard.
Styles: Krav Maga,
Weapon: Mace
Alignment: Neutral / Evil

SMOKE - Ermac's Cyber Assassin - Ermac sends Hurricane to seek out and reprogram Smoke. With his true self again lost to him, Smoke fights for the evil that is Ermac.
Alignment: Evil

STRYKER - Earth Realm Warrior - Stryker is approached by Kojin, who speaks to him of the looming chaos. He travels with her to the other Earth warriors to defend their realm, despite being somewhat reluctant to get caught up these strange conflicts again.
Weapon: Nightstick
Alignment: Good

THORN - Demon - A strange demon by-product of Ton'Torok, Thorn will lash out at all those it comes across, good or evil. Ermac senses some kind of mental bond between both himself and Thorn via Ton'Torok.
Alignment: Neutral

TANYA - Edenia Realm Warrior - After Shinnok fell, Tanya was captured and imprisoned for treason by order of Queen Sindel. After escaping, she eventually was found by Ermac, who offered her a place in his army in return for her loyalty.
Weapon: Boomerangs
Alignment: Evil
(executed properly, bommerangs CAN be quite lethal you know)

ZOE - Outworld Warrior - The founding member and only survivor of the long forgotten White Feather clan of assassins that were wiped out shortly after Shao Kahn gained control of Outworld. Zoe has reemerged now to fight Ermac, though she does so for her own reasons.
Styles: Ju'Rai, Dove
Weapon: Feather Sword
Alignment: Neutral

BOSS CHARACTERS

ERMAC - Scorceror, ruler of Taihaiken - With his new found power, he seeks to over throw the Earth Realm, and then all others.

TON'TOROK - Ermac's Demon - Created with Ermac's new power, he is a lethal abomination that carriers out every command from Ermac. He is a creature never to be under estimated.

SECRET CHARACTERS

NOOB SAIBOT - Nether Realm Warrior - After the fall of Shinnok, Raiden sent Noob Saibot back to the Nether Realm. When Ermac brought forth Holy Nun, Noob Saibot slipped through the portal before it closed. He waits in the shadows for the right moment to grasp power and overthrow Ermac.

OROKO - Ninja Master - An ex member of the old Lin Kuei, he has set forth to claim the Cyber Ninja Technology, Smoke, to use it to start his own clan.

SHEEVA - Shokan Warrior - After Goro's death, Sheeva and Kitana learned of Ermac's threat. Fearing Ermac may also strike against Shokan interests, Sheeva travelled to stop him.

For those who are probably wondering (let alone caring), Insect is a humanoid preying mantis, with large claws/scythes instead of arms, I have a reeeeally bad pic of him somewhere (well, not so much BAD, but its mostly blatantly traced from one of the pics in the MK3 manual)
