Was memory card working properly?

had it happen to me too... only i turned off the console while it was loading... did you do anything like that?

Weird
This happened to me yesterday with Smackdown vs Raw 2006. I was trying to load but it said that it needed to create a new profile. All the data disappeared. I know I didn't delete it either.
Maybe the PS2's are starting to "crash" so that we are forced to buy PS3. I hate it when technology does this.

Always copy your profiles and game data onto a back up card in case it's lost on your main one.

Well to answer your question.
It was either cause you turned off the system while your game was saving,Or if you were online, sometimes you get sent to a room called WWWWWWWW it is a lagg room that deletes your memory of MKA. Now what you do is just simply press triangle and leave the room then go to disconnect and then go offline. Once you are offline,Then you can turn it off.
You should never turn off the PS2 at a loading screen and or a loading screen. Dont worry though. Create a new profile,Go online as any other day and just put in password (Aslong as you remembered it) Then you will be able to play on your original id.
Hope this helps.

It was probably corrupted data.

there are easier ways to get all the stuff besides going through konquest again, right? The code box in the krypt I think.

**That would be a great idea but midway for some dumb ass reason decided to put a security on the save preventing it from being copied.

Same thing happened to me. Luckily my online ID wasn't erased.

About Me
98% of the Internet population has a Myspace. If you're part of the 2% that doesn't have one, copy and paste this into your sig.

are you using action replay? After i used it (mk deception), my saved games (profiles) were turned into corrupted data and I cant create new profiles. That really sucks! The problem seems to happen on specific games. Here's the list of the games that have the problem:
Half-Life
Mortal Kombat: Deception
Resident Evil: Code Veronica X
I own 38 Playstation2 games and only 3 of them have the problem..

This has not happend to me. But I don't do the MK online system. I don't trust my PS2 being hooked up to the internet so I just play my games and not the online system that most PS2 games come with. When you save a
game it dose say ( DO NOT TURN OFF SYSTEM GAME DATA WILL BE ERASED ). You must of turned off the game when it was saveing. If you have to memory cards like I do make a copy on the first card and a second copy on the second memory card. That way you won't lose any saved games. I hope this helps you.
