New IGN Poll and interesting article on MK Characters

Nothing really new, but its still interesting to read.

Ok. The article presents some already known info on the main five confirmed characters so far:

* Liu Kang
* Scorpion
* Shang Tsung
* Sonya Blade
* Sub-Zero

It's even got some funny bits of written things such as: "Kang, sporting his George Romero variant look" (Zombie Liu) and "Hope you brought all 9 lives, Selina Kyle. You're gonna need 'em" (refering to Sonya against Catwoman).

There's also a POLL that shows some very popular voted characters and other's who arent as popular for the public and fans.

IGN's Kast of Top Kharacters

The top characters who lead in popularity with fans and the general public are Rayden, Johnny Cage and Reptile.

And for some annoying reason, there seems to be no love for the female ninjas, with Sareena, Mileena and Kitana being the lowest 3 in the poll.

I really dont think Sareena should be in that list though, as cool and interesting as she is, I think Sindel, Jade, and even the new chicks like Nitara and Li Mei would do better.

Other characters in the poll include: Baraka, Noob Saibot, Kung Lao and Smoke.

It's too bad they got oh so much of their info wrong. Cannonical events were placed side by side with non-cannonical as though they were both Gospel. Ridiculous.

Really? I didnt noticed that much.

But if you mean things like "Liu Kang got his soul/body back just in time to face the DC", etc., I think they just wrote it like that to add some, er, "flavor" to the article.

Most of the info, almost all actually, was correct, wasnt it?

But maybe I missed something.

There are errors. Like Scorpion was originally a villain there to fight the Earth warriors in MK1....when he wasn't. Or that he joined the Earth fighters in MK3 because he saw that as an advantage....which is wrong. Fighting alongside the Earth fighters meant he would end up back in the Netherealm when Kahn was defeated. But he did it anyway, that was the point.

They also claimed the original Sub-Zero lusted for power and that was why he died....which is also very wrong.

Kang better not be the main guy in the MK section. I'm tired of seeing him as the leader. Though every time I see him as the undead Liu Kang, the song "Do your chains hang low" keeps popping in my head.

Oh, there's the song.

Ah, I see. Thanks for the info!

I did miss those things for some reason, maybe I was way too sleepy, I don’t know. Was there anything else off? I’ll give it a read again soon.

I don’t think there was anything as off as those bits up there....I think.

LOL!!!! (the song part) grin

Anyway, hopefully Liu wont be THE main character and leader again, but I think its fair to assume he will be among the main.

He hasn’t been THE lead since MKDA, so, hopefully, that still continues.

(I hope for Zombie Liu)

actually i feel sorry only for Kitana,'cause i agree totally with IGN voters....
Cage,reptile and Rayden deserves to be in MK vs DCU.

My boy Raiden is leading the poll at the moment with over 34%. There is just no way he won't be in this game!
I'm annoyed that people want Noob Saibot and Baraka over Kung Lao. It's madness lol! tongue Kung Lao needs to be in this game!

I'm going with Sareena. Seriously, she's a serious underdog. She deserves more than ONE friggin' lousy game. Kitana, Johnny Cage, and Raiden have all had their moments in the spotlight for over 10 years... let somebody with some real potential hog it for awhile.

Pretty interesting read.

The poll so far is pretty much reflecting what I'd expect from the standpoint of a general fan base, though I am a bit surprised to see Mileena and Kitana in the bottom. Guess they're not as popular as I thought from a general standpoint.. poor Mil ;-; she deserves a higher spot. Hopefully she's still chosen for the new game, she'd be a great addition IMO.

Voted for Sareena. She damn well deserves to be in more games.
