I must say that I was a little taken back by the news a while back. Over the course of the following months I really started to pay attention.
Once I got the game, Special Edition by the way, I was quite taken in by how it was really done well. The fighting style is really something else. It is fast paced. Even more so then any other MK game that I can remember. The backgrounds are really cool and the different ways of going from one area to the next are amazing.
The finishers are well done. I really thought they would be flat because of the no gore news. I was wrong. The Joker's are very interesting.
Anyway, the only grips I have are the way of pulling off the finishers and the last boss. I guess I have to get use to doing the finishers without the fatality stance. :)
Other then that, tip top game.

Dude, write a comment that better serves this fourm, otherwise get out.

The comic book isn't what made the special edition worth it. The special features DVD is. I found all those interviews interesting as hell.

Nothing else. It comes with the comic (which is actually very tiny) and the DVD, and it comes in a fancy box with the Alex Ross painting cover. It doesn't actually cost that much extra though, so I felt it was worth it.

The painting is on a mat, as far as I can figure. It is really cool actually. The box itself is like a box. The comic book inside is neat, but the dvd makes the package worth the extra $10. After watching the dvd, that made the game even more playable.
