... It won't tell you "This item WILL be useful later" or something like that.
I think the Ninja Star Object IS very very important, people keep ignoring, and say there is NOTHING left to solve!
Hello Wake up! Until you solved the Ninja Star mystery, don't preach to us everything in this game is solved! I hate that!!
And, stop assuming Ed Boon and the team taken out the Ninja Star mission. Why didn't they take it out ALL together? Sloppish coding, isn't it?
NO, I don't think so. I still Ninja Star is a VERY critical piece of the puzzle that NOBODY has solved yet.
So, I am revisiting this topic, and let's get this baby SOLVED together!
Please stop telling me there is tons of threads on this already. I am trying to start over the investigation, and I am LEADING it! We gotta FOCUS, and solve it. Hack it or whatever, see whatever you come up with regarding to Ninja Star... and Raiden's Staff as well.
I REFUSE to believe the team has left out rest of the mission.
With the latest clue "Ermac is a star", do you think it may have anything to do with taking the Ninja Star to the running Ermac in Earthrealm? (You know, where he race you to the Ruby koins area)
I am NOT saying this is Definitely the key to unlock secrets, it could just be koins, but the line "This item WILL be useful later" seems to me an unordinary quest.
Think about it!
P.s: I have not encountered the Raiden's Staff mission myself, did it say anything like "This item Will be useful later" too?

Here is my take on the ninja star and I think it is legit.
****SPOILER****
Go to the art portion of the game and find the MK Logo Star. Click for more info and it states that every time you finish the missions in each realm you get a jewel on the star. Take a look at your star and see if it has any jewels on it yet?? Also read the description on the star and let me know if you read it the same way I

Then Again, why the programmer put in the line "This item will be useful later"? I would probably think like you do, if that line was not there, but that line has to MEAN something. Don't ignore it!
Jacksonbriggs I will take a look at that in a couple of minutes, but interesting find! So, anyone's ninja star lits up?

Maybe related to "Ermac is a Star"???
I also think the star is for something... Not sure if it's going to be a BIG thing... maybe it was something inside town we all missed... BTW... anyone kno what the hell the old woman's key and the lock pick are for?

See here for the old woman's key...
As for the Lockpick it's for unlocking several previously locked huts
And,ErmacMk5 in Darth Vader's words "I find your lack of faith disturbing!"
And, it's different what someone says, and what the ingame speech/dialog says. People may not keep promises, but it seems that the Ninja Star thing is being implemented in the game already, gotta have some answers to that puzzle!

Hold on a second, I just found something interesting, could be on to something here.
Please follow me...
There are 12 sides to the Ninja Star!
People hacking the CD said they found these strings...
key_platinum_spawn
key_onyx_spawn
key_sapphire_spawn
key_jade_spawn
key_ruby_spawn
key_gold_spawn
key_pickup
key_die
ring_platinum_spawn
ring_onyx_spawn
ring_sapphire_spawn
ring_jade_spawn
ring_ruby_spawn
ring_gold_spawn
ring_pickup
ring_die
Ignore the pickup and die strings, focus on the colored ones. There are 6 Keys and 6 Rings for each Koin color. Maybe if you collect ALL 12 the Ninja Star may have some USE?

Hmm I don't seem to remember those multi-colored rings.

As it's shaping up, with these "rings" maybe those rings found in konquest must be kept, rather than given away, such as Sindel's Ring!

What is conflicting is that in the object list, there are ONLY 3 rings though, no more...

The multi-colored keys...
Platinum Key (Key) - From the dead body in the netherrealm.
Onyx Key (Mysterious key)- I think you get it from the "hide and seek" boy in the village.
Sapphire Key (Blue key) - From the park in the village "A-6"
Jade Key - ???
Ruby Key (Parents hut key) - (D5, in the village) From one of the children, after you punch the bully, Makko in the park.
Gold Key (Old Woman's hut key) - Hit the old woman at the gates in the village.
