Okay. If it is true that Gamecube is going to have more fighters in the game it raises the obvious question. Is Nintendo so desperate to increase sales by making sure they have a better version? From what I've heard in certain unnamed popular game stores is that Nintendo isn't doing too well in the market place. People are actually bringing back Gamecubes for other systems, and games! Perhaps Nintendo should take a huge hint from Sega. Quit the system racket, and stick to videogames. It seems that since MK1, Nintendo has been kicking theirselves in the butt for not having blood in the game. Nintendo could have had the very first close to arcade perfect version of MK1. That's my opinion. Has anyone heard anything else?

there no proof of nintendo version of mkd there going to get a crap load of extra characters there is no proof of that yet. time well tell on what going nintendo going get besides extra modes.

NIntendo is doing fine, no need for them to quit.. like they said they day they quit the hardware biz is the day they pull out of software as well. your not going to see any of there aaa titles on a ps2 or the xbox if thats what your thinking, nintendo not going allow that to happen.. and no one knows about there next system there's talk of nintendo adding a harddrive and going online but we'll see if that happends or not .

one more thing no need to start a console/flame war, that is not allowed on the boards dude, that can lead to a ban so becareful next time.

Console war? No. It is a simple question. I don't hate Nintendo at all, or PS2, or X-Box. I just asked a question about a story I heard from a local video game store that said that Nintendo was doing poorly in sales, and if anyone else has heard anything about it.

the main reasons why mkd for gamecube would get extra characters is because there is no online play for gamecube users and don't forget xbox and ps2 users have had the game since october 14th where as they will have to wait until sometime in January 2005

If you ask me, I think is is not only fair, but completely right that they get extras

poor gamecubers always get shafted, they deserve extras
personally, i would rather have have online play rather than extra characters and thing slike that, but that's my opinion

Maybe your right. Since they have to wait, they may be entitled to a little extra here and there.

games always do this tho. If they release a game for some system, then release the same game on another system a couple months later, there usually is a bit more goodies in it. Such as Godzilla Destroy All Monsters Melee (maybe a bad example, but I love that game).. which was 1st released on the cube, then later on the xbox. Xbox version had one new character and 2 new arenas (I think).

Oh and please never use the whole "what is Nintendo thinking... no blood in MK1" gig. Nintendo isn't like that anymore... in fact, the MK2 SNES version is the best home port (imo)... and theres blood! Nintendo knew they messed up when they wanted the blood out in MK1, so they fixed that mistake a year later.

It's off topic, but I actually liked the SNES version better. The different fatalities were a little more original.

if Nintendo didn't get any extras then it will just be Deception without online play. then only people who only own a gamecube would want to get it if they like MK. which would probably happen anyways but maybe the extras will convince more people who only own it to get it.

I'm sure Nintendo has only so much control over extra content. All they can say is no we won't licence it unless. It is common practice to add content if a game arives late on a system. In Midways case tossing in an ass load of goodies can only help get people to buy the game. PS2 & Xbox had it early its only fair the GC owners get something for waiting and no online play. If they make it tasty enough I'll buy a GC copy to go with my ps2 copy. If anyone is going to try and enginer extra sales is Midway. Not that Nintendo wouldn't mind.

On the sales note Nintendo's GameCube has never done as well as the Xbox and PS2. Which is a shame because it has plenty of power and is super cheap. Its almost crimminal to call your self a gamer if you wouldn't spend the price of 2 games to own a whole new system. Its a good system for what it is, but then so was the Sega Dreamcast.

That's retarded. You think Nintendo gives a shit whether MK comes to their console or not?

Bringing MK to the 'Cube is Midway's plan, they're doing it because they realize there are plenty of MK fans out there who own Gamecubes and not PS2's or Xboxen. It's MIDWAY's idea to put more characters into MKD for the 'Cube version, to make it up to the fans for it lacking online play. It COULD have online play, theres nothing stopping them from giving it online play, they just don't want to.

I really have to stop coming to these boards. I feel like the stupidity here is infectious.

It's not like this is new, XBox games have been getting minor extras with certain games that are ported from the PS2 since they came out later...GTA3/VC, MGS2 Substance, Tony Hawk 3, etc.

And you fit right in.

I heard that they are bringing in some character models from the konquest mode (e.g Stryker etc) and brining them into the main game for the gamecube and giving them unique fighting styles and fatalities...

They are entitled to it. 6 months in the gaming world is an eternity. Every big secret in MK was discovered within the first week and a half of its release...GC owners don't get the game until we've seen every ending, been through every fight...go through konquest two or three times...perform every fatality...fight each other online numerous times...while GC owners stand idly by (not making NEARLY as many threads, complaining about the wait, as PS2/Xbox owners are creating threads about how unfair it is that GC owners get a few exclusive characters)

6 months in the gaming world....games get hot and cold in a month...tops. Think you could have stood idly by, while the bulk of the MK storyline plays out, while only HOPING that the GC would get a few exclusive characters, 6 months later? I couldn't...and I doubt any PS2/X-box owner could.
