No more Minigame after deception!
No more Minigame after deception!

WTF! Close this is a dumb topic.....u never played the mini game, how the F can u say take it out when u never played it (ay pendejo) give them a chance! Sheesh!
I'm glad someone brought this up. This is like the parallel to having Mortal Kombat stay mortal as someone else said. I would like Mortal Kombat to stay Kombat. These Minigames are boring looking and childish. That kind of effort should be put into making the fighting better.

I fully agree (I had a post on this earlier).. I wish they'd spend their time on the fighting engine... Of course the minigames could be fun. In fact they probably are but I want a great fighting game, not another Mario Party :P

Wow I am having a real hard time trying to hear all of this. How many of you played the mini games? I played them at E3 and they were fun, just as fun as playing the normal fighting game. You get four games in one. If the fighting game was not good enough for the spoiled gamers, then the mini games will get crap for all the problems. And if the mini games were taken out people would complain about the game not having enough content. It's a lose lose situation. I say don't knock it till you have tried it. When you play the mini games for yourselves you should like them. And if you don't like the game, and the mini game then don't play. Your not going to change anything by saying you do or don't like it. The MK staff will do what they want when they want to. If the fighting system is not up to par Oh well I will have another fatality game laters DSB

The day MK stops trying to be a 3D version of Midway Arcade Treasures and focuses on the fighting I won't complain one bit.
DSB, ok so you like fatalities fair enough, but that's at the end of the rounds, has it not occurred to you that there's a biggining and middle of the rounds as well?
Not to mention that all they are, are in-game cut-scenes, what about the actual game itself? You know, the fighting part in a fighting game?
When are we gonna stop getting minigames that add nothing to the main storyline or Arcade mode and focus on what the game is about.
An example of what I'm talking about:-
Instead of all this time being spent on a MK themed chess and a super puzzle fighter rip-off that has fatatlities, time could've been spent on the online mode.
Tournaments to see who is the best fighter out there, not to mention ranking ladders, to compare yourself with the best in the world.
creating your own clans and start huge MK clan wars just like in the real MK story
if your favourite fighter from previous games isn't in the main game, you could have a downloading section, where you would be able to download your favourite character in true 3D, complete with 3 styles and a story relating to Deception/Mystification.
Does this not sound good? I think it does, and it's all possible, games have been doing this sort of thing for years now.

Tekken 3 without his "mini-games": Another decent fighting game...
MKDeception with his "mini-games": The Best Overall Fighting Game Ever...
Actually, a "pure" fighting game is a crap game, the people wants something more than a Arcade Fighting Game, and MKDeception is more than a simple Arcade Fighting Game...

I think the fighter needs work first but I like that they have chess in there that game should stay one becuz I like chess and this games gonna take a while to get boring unlike MKDA it got boring quick.
All the features for chess are awesome the back grounds u fight for a block and all the cool features each piece has like sorcers can do moves its cool. I just wish that instead of all the pieces looking the same u could pick all the pieces lol.

I'm not the one who think that it isn't possible to make the mini-games, improve the fight system and have options online simultaneously, and that if it becomes first thing can't do the others things...

Mini-Games is a waste of time if i want to play a puzzle game ill play tetris if i want to play chess ill go on yahoo. What the hell is Boon doing i doubt the fighting engine is going to be better Boon is to concerned about the Mini-games its going to hurt the gameplay you will see. There wouldnt be alot of stuff to do in the main fighting game because all the other junk it has.
Sorry guys, clicked submit on accident. As for the matter at hand, The 'fighting games are bad without minigames' statement is total bullshit. MKII, was that a 'crap game'? Most people consider it one of the best fighting games around. No minigames, boo to them all.

They obviously can't do all three things at the same time, or they would have done.
From what has been said so far it seems gameplay has slightly been tweaked, the lack of available things you can do online there for all to see (see my post about online play for details) and the mini-games have no effect on the main game or storyline whatsoever.
What you said about games not having mini-games is just wrong, Tekken 3 which you said was "another decent fighter" !!when it was released!! was the best 3D fighter ever made for it's time, and all that had was a bad scolling beat-em up game for extras along with a beachball game that played like a 2D game, the only reason anyone played those were to unlock secret characters.

MKII is a actually game? Is a 2D game of 93!!!
SC2, MKDA, VF4 and Tekken 4 had another things, called "mini-games" or not, but nothing good game in the last 3 years hasn't be a "mini-games" or similar... is the EVOLUTION of fighting game!

True but MK2 was also the MK game which had the biggest impact in the gaming industry out of any MK's because it was the best one to date.
Tekken 4 just had a slightly better version of a mini-game that no-one wants to play and SC2+VF4 had re-worked versions of their main fighting engine.
The only thing that makes a fighting game evolve is by improving the fighting, mini-games are just there to either by used as a way to unlock characters or to open other secrets, as a way of keeping people interested when they've got bored of the main game.

Exactly, and what's the problem with that?

The problem is people shouldn't have to go through a different game to unlock something for the main game, if you're going to to have unlockable secrets for the arcade/story mode then they should be made unlockable from the arcade/story mode.
Then there would be more time to focus on more important things.
