I guess they felt that by giving her a whip, she may be to similar to Ivy in Soul Calibur.... but it would of been cool nonetheless

In a few magazine sreenshots, Hotaru is seen with the bladed staff that Sindel was using in the vid. To me, it fits Hotaru way more than Sindel.

I belive that in the end, she wont have that bladed staff as her weapon.
