What? What old character select screen?

The one that they had in E3.
It had two sides, and about 15 Characters unlocked.

Does any1 have a screenshot of it?

now i remember what you're talking about. Actually i have to agree with you on this one. MKA after you unlock everything has little replay value, and if you had to unlock around 35-40 characters itd give it a lot more staying power.

Also, if you had to unlock 35-40 characters, i'd hope it would be harder to unlock them than it is to unlock costumes, as they are wayy too easy. They should be somewhat hard to get, but still not too hard. It should be somewhat like MKD, except not the stupid keys system.

I personally didn't like the E3 version.

I didnt like the E3 version, but it would have been cool if you had to unlock Kharacters and they all had different classic "Watch a Fatality"

MKA would of been pretty cool with a Weapon's Master Mode like in Soul Calibur. Scorpion, Quan Chi, Kitana, And i think a few other's did it when ever you didn't Press Start on MKDA. Would of been a cool little theatrical feature.

I like the current one with everyone showing ala Trilogy style vs. the E3 flip screen. I'm glad they took that approach.

I wonder if they originally planned to have Noob Saibot and Smoke as one character (noob-smoke) cause on that first select screen picture from E3 one of the boxes had a silhouette of two heads though it kinda didnt look like smoke and noob

I like that you can see evryone on one screen, but I agree there should have only been like 15 or so unloacked at the start. So that's kindof inbetween.
