Just wanted to make a thread for people who play online so that things can remain civil as much as possible without someone getting flammed for doing something online or getting pissed while you play because a person acts rude. Feel free to add you proper manners ideas.
1. Don't join kombat with someone if you don't plan on playing at least 5-6 matches. Its just rude to play one and bail
2. I thinik it has now become an unwritten rule to NOT pick Dairou. Its kinda like we only have 23 characters to select from. His level of brokenness due to his tombstone is all too sad.
3. Don't beat someone and then join chat and diss them. Be a good sport and say GG. I know being a badass and winning a lot give people the big head but try to control your flames. I may have to come set you in your place if you don't

I agree 100% with #1 & #3!!!!!!! Especially #3.
However, I don't entirely agree with #2. Now, I've seen people play Dairou cheaply and others that play him fairly. I don't play Dairou like a cheap bastard, but since he's SOOOO broken, not playing people who use him would be a better idea.
BTW, this might belong in either the XBox Online Tournament Thread or the PS2 one. Actually, this could go in both.
Eh, anyhoo... You're dead on with #3! Now, I will say that assholes are like cockroaches, they're everywhere! I've meet some people online that I wished, if possible, I could stab them in their face through my DSL connection. Since the place isn't moderated, which needs to be done in the future, just ignoring a few of those hamster molesters would be the best idea.

1 & 3 I totally agree with, but not 2. I don't ever use Dairou but I would not want to hinder a Dairou fan from using him.
I would suggest something a bit more constructive for #2. Something like...have the decency as an MK fan to use different characters at times. Not for every fight but at times. I play on Xbox now but when I played on PS2 I played someone 30 matches 29 Sub-Zeros and 1 Scorpion. Lemme tell you boredom. But hey they followed through with #1 and actually 3 so it was worth the time spent seeing shred...er Sub-Zero over and over.

Like the others in this thread so far, I agree with #1 and #3.
when people pick Dairou I just leave. I've never played a Dairou player yet who hasn't been cheap, so if someone picks him, I just avoid the frustration and challenge someone else. It shouldn't be a rule that Dairou can't be picked, because sometimes i'll play a Dairou player who actually fights fair.
I DO think that there should be some more added:
4) Don't pick the same character over and over - either learn to play as other characters or don't play at all. People who beat you with your best character aren't always playing cheap.
5) Don't purposely pick stages with easy Death Traps(Falling Cliffs) over and over - if you do, you're just a cheap, terrible player who only relies on ring outs to win, and that's just sad.

it all sounds good to me. another rule might be, if you beat someone down horribly, why not let them know what you did to get good. I myself have found that a key stratagy in this game that doesnt work/ isnt relevent in other games, is the connection between combo timing and blocking. as someone who grew up on SF2, blocking is important, but if you kick someone and they block it you are not in the least vulnerable. bottomline, help out the worse players so they get better and then dont have to rely on the dairou groundpound, or the "Im going to sweep you as much as possible" tactic btw, why dont more people play shujinko....he friggen ROCKS!!!!!

Why? It's no less sad or cheap than a ko or time up victory.
Nothing wrong with relying on ring outs. That's why they're there.
If you can't learn to zone and keep away from deathtraps, then you're going to get spat out - that's the game.
(For the record, i'm still pissed off that deathtraps are included. MK doesn't need ring outs)

i disagree w/ 1... simply because i wont play 5 or 6 matches if i notice by match 3 that my opponent picks the same character... or group of 2 characters all the time.... and is very cheap.
or because if i notice my opponent is muuuuuch better than i am... or vice versa. i'd rather fight people at my skill level, who pick random characters, and are not cheap.
