I think it is all about your win lost ratio. Also keep in mind when you are not playing many other people are. Meaning you could be 100th in ranking and having a 100 win 5 lost record one hour, then stop playing. While a person playing beats your record with 111 wins and 3 lost record. You see win losses are always changing thus your rank is changing. I don't think it is flawed. It is also slow to refresh.

how are u ranked 8, and just complaining now, u should hav known by know how it worked unless u are on pal, as for the us version i had 310 wins in a row and neva got high than 5, 4th was 600-0 so u need 600 in a row to get there, and it dont go by wins loses at all, ive seen guys with losing recoreds ranked 1000, its goes by that rating number all the way to the right on the leaderboard screen.

yeah im playing in the pal territory, so i assume there are far less players here than in the us!! but i have always complained about the ranking system! its not the best, it is definatley flawed, sure there are guys who have one 700 matches but lost 350 and they are ranked 500th, yet im ranked at the moment 78th with only 124 wins and 24 losses.

its based on wins in a row, when i fist got the game i got 9 wins in a row and i was ranked like 100.

Hey you, NoNameEnterName. You need to accept that friend request that I sent you so that I can take you out. We played some really good games and you are the only person that has gotten the best of me. I've been speaking very highly of you and letting some other players know how good you were and if they had played you. I got a few new tricks up my sleeve that should prove to be nasty. The games we played were very fun, but I want to know how in the hell you were pulling off that Telepunch where Smoke comes in from behind and immediately perfoms the Stinky Cloud. That was some shit that no one has done except you and it dosen't seem quite kosher. One more thing, stop that whack ass "Win a couple of times and then leave" shit, I really enjoyed playing you and I wanted to figure out what you were doing in order to beat you. I did however learn that unlisted Kobra combo that you were doing and his pokes, thanks.
I hope you're not one of those players that cares about his record to the point where they turn off the power before a loss or some shit like that. My record is pretty decent but to me a loss is a loss and I'm not going to win a prize if I have the best record. Take care and maybe I'll see you on line.

Im not sure about the ranking since im pretty bad at the game since i started playing DOAU.
What im relaly mad at is the connection is inadequat (sp?) message.
I get that every time im winning. Second i seem to only play people who use 3 moves max for each character and know every cheap combo or glitch and use it over and over.
but lately as i said i play matches and lose but when im kicking ass i get the connection is fubar message. Never have any connection issues in halo 2, DOAU, Guilty gear, or PGR2

it goes by who u face.. if u r high in ranking but u lose to some 1 who has a ranking of say 1,000 u will be brought down to his level of ranking.. people who have losing records can be as high as #1. it just depends on who they have played and beat in the rankings.. i actually think its fair, but this game is so full of cheese, glitch combos and a whole bunch of 50/50 so in the end it doesnt come down to skill it come down to who quesses right...
mk deception should not have a ranking system, the game is too flawed to have 1 sadly..
