As far as we know MKD isn't coming out in PAL countries until 5th November at the earliest. We have a whole MONTH to wait guaranteed before we can play the game that the US is getting next week :(
Anyhow, I don't know how many of you have also heard the issue I'm about to address, so I'll post this topic just in case.
I know there will be PAL gamers out there who are itching to get MKD and play it Online right from it's release, have Broadband but are not yet connected to PS2 Online. The variety of Online games for PS2 is fairly limited (only MKD made me want to connect) so many of you will have only been encouraged to connect by MKD.
In case you were thinking "I'll go into town on the day of release, buy MKD and the broadband adapter together", that's not such a good idea based on the rumours I've heard.
According to a few people I've asked, while it is free to register online for PS2 gaming, you may be required to wait up to or about a month before you are sent the PIN number/Access Code to get on!
This means, if you get set up online ASAP (do it NOW before MKD is released), by my calculations you should be able to actually get online around the same time (maybe a day or two before/after release) as the game is released - keeping delays to a minimum!
I urge you to do things this way because unless you know otherwise or have a better idea you may end up really annoyed/frustrated/dissapointed on trying to log in!
Only trying to help - a suggestion. Also, if anyone can update me further and confirm whether or not the 'month delay' for online subscriptions is true, please post here.
Peace!

I'd just heard a couple of people mention it in their posts. I'm currently experiencing similar delays with my NTL Broadband setup so I suppose I just went 'typical', grumbled and accepted it once I heard about it.
If it's indeed on the fly, that's great news! At last, a company that seems to care about it's customers! (u listening NTL?)
Peace!
