I have a serious problem online with people who use a rediculous amount of parrys. Besides delaying or anticipating a parry, or grabbing the shit out of someone, how do you stop parry whore's? And what is a parry cancell?

You missed the most important strategies - poking and parry baiting.
Fidn your characetrs best and unparryable pokes and poke the opponent like there's no tomorrow.
As for parry baiting, trick them into performing an early parry by advancing on them and faking attack. You'd usually block or even perform your own parry if they attempt to counter attack Once they do the parry, destroy them.
Other than those, you'll have to have some patience and stop rushing the opponent. Make them play to your game, not you to theirs. Vary your attacking options.

Parrys are a major part of this game. Learn how to use them.

There's nothing wrong with using parry- if a player uses oit too much then anticipate.

Parry cancels are another thing - they allow them to do "unnatural" combos, and it can get frustrating.

I understand the poking and baiting system quite well. What I have a problem with is people who attack and then instantly parry after an attack or combo. Even if I wait to attack after anticipating a parry, they grab me and send me flying lol. What i would really like to know is how do I parry cancell, and is it worth using online due to lag?

Well, I don't use parry cancelling into combos, sweeps etc however I do use them with throws which is probably the easiest way to parry cancel.

It's not easy but hardly worth the effort IMO.

Parry, then immediately buffer the throw button as you parry. If done correctly you're character will show the parry animation then immediately throw therefore you just parry cancelled.

That's what malone taught me wayy back in this game.

don't parry cancel, it is cheap and leads to bigger combos which were not meant to be.

For you to cry about parrys and such is sad.

Its part of the game, and if its there... why not use it ? If you fall for it over and over, thats your problem.

So what do you do ? You cry on MKO about it. Figures.. you have been doing this since MKD as well.

Anyway.. to be postive about this..

Use non-parryable attacks. Sweeps, some low pokes and others work well. Crying and moaning over parrys does nothing.

Anticipating the parry is probably the best.. that way you can punish the shit out of them because of it.

oh...

and the parry cancel is performed by quickly tapping R2+Back (for the parry) and immediately doing a move.

So put it this way...

I use Ermac...

I do his levitate attack... (BDB+4)

I follow up by 112, and I wanna continue with a longer combo after that (without having to use the levitate)....

I would do R2+Back, followed up by a quick 112.

It makes your combos bigger, and they are completely legit since they take mad skill to perform. Its really hard to do online, so you will never catch me using it in a real fight.

Heres a video of Check doing this. He does it different than me, and its probably the best way to do it.

Hope this answers it for you.

Arcade let's get something straight. First of all i wasn't crying about anything, i was simply stating a problem i was having online. And a little information on how to stop it. I don't need any help from the likes of you if your going to be an ass about it. To those who answered my question, thank you. And to the rest who seems its necessary to be an asshole on MKO, grow up.

Chill the fuck out.

I just tried to help you, and thats the thanks I get !?

Wow, some things just never change, do they ?

Still the same Wdfrench... the guy that used to bitch and moan about 50/50s in MKD, back for some more bullshit in MKA.

You grow up, and sprout some balls while your at it.

Yeah, lets get something straight... I played you not too long ago, beat you.... just so that you could call me a “cheap nigger" in the lobby . And your over 30 years old, yet your telling me to grow up when your talking mad shit like that. Just doesn't fly to far does it ?

LOL

Check does that combo so well I don't even see him throw out the PC. It looks like he literally presses it all at the same exact time.

The combos were never made to have PCs.

They made smaller combos in this game to get rid of the rediculous combos in MKD. But Air cancels, KAK, and PCs have destroyed that.

Offline Yeah... I most defiently agree with you.

However... Online is a whole different story

Lag nearly elimates the use of Air Canceling... and Parry cancels are VERY hard to do as well because of the lag.

The use of 3,3 is what makes the game broken online though.

As for KAK's... the answer to that online is Blaze for me. HAHA !

I can do most of the air cancells online, except for Noob and Cage's, I don't get the 3,3 however. Is there no stance change switch? I see people do it all the time. I try it in practice mode and it doesnt work. As far as the parry cancell, It took me 40 or so times to figure it out, lol.

Well to answer your question.

Its simple really. The more lagg the better. Ok,After a popup,Do a deep jump in and make sure that you hit your opponent right as there about to land on the ground. Then press 3,3, land on the ground,Jump back up and forward and repeat. Make sure you only do 3 of these any more than that is an inf.

So it goes 33,33,33,popup,33,33,33,finisher.

I hope that helps.

If you have any further questions,You can ask in this thread.wink
