Recently, I played against this noob who could only do a few things. Block a lot, throw a lot and use special moves. I hope you can udnerstand why dairou, raiden and nightwolf were his favourites. NOw dairou is not much of a prob. Raiden as long as you get used to teleportation and throwing its fine. But i never knew nightwolf could be so irritating. Turtling, thunderbolt, rhino charge and throwing really irritated me. I was using noob smoke and had a hell lot of trouble. If anyone has not noticed, N-S have a huge prob hitting people who turtle, esp low block, due to the fact that their combos all hit high, unlike some who have combos which cant be low blocked. and their teleport punches are not gonna work if the fella just low blocks all the time. You get the point.. Anyone has the same tropuble against noobs playing nightwolf like this??? I won, but with difficulty.. I mainly mixed it up and pulled it off... Raiden was extremely effective against that noob though, but Im looking for more effective N-S strats against ppl who play lik that...

Nightwolf- side step a lot, block high when close to him (for bull charge) and if they duck low, to the drop from the sky switch with noob-smoke, that or the downward hit with Noob (forward + 4). I'm pretty sure those can hit low. Also, Noobs don't do well against invisibility. Try turning invisible with Noob, side step so he can't hit you, sweep and downward hit a lot. Just go to practice and look at all the moves that can hit people when blocking high, and all the moves that can hit blocking low (probably have to go to versusto find the blocking low hits) and use these when people block.

If you're playing someone who just turtles... Let them come to you. If they are in fact n00bish compared to you, just capitolize on their mistakes and you'll have no problem.

I have some N-S strats to piss everyone off online that you face in the future. I play N-S religiously online and manage to snuff out top players with a few simple tricks.
1) Use Noobs high/low game with b-4, and then 4 to keep em' guessing
2) Keep Noob in as long as you can in the begining to keep their mind off of Smoke and his smoke cloud.
3) "The bait and switch!" Keep on your opponent with Noob and switch in Smoke when you're really close and let loose with the smoke cloud!!! They will either get caught by it or be forced to block, if they block high go for the throw f they block low overhead smash them with Smokes b-1 attack, if they walk back, teleport punch their ass into the smoke cloud they tried to walk away from. Don't use that too tactic much though because they'll catch ontongue.
4) Use the smoke cloud like it's going out of style! Even if your not near them and use it like a sheild from wich you can plan you your attack. You want Smoke to look like Pig pen from the Peanuts gang, you know.. the dirty kid with a constant stink cloud around him.
5) If you stay on them like you should, just walk right up to them and throw out the cloud then quick step to them and grab them to set up the air juggle of your choice. If you Smokey cut them, land the ninja stars before they fall and as they rise throw out some smoke to catch them off guard.
6) The most important thing to do is force them to waste those breakers!
If you smoke em', start a chain combo and they will break you, if you follow all of my tips to smoke them you will make them waste all their breakers before round 2.
7) Soak, rinse repeat and enjoy!
I hope that helps.

post like that show how unskill mk has become, its become a 50/50 guess on a high or low attack, they need to fix the blocking system... prob with ya N/S smoke is when ya noob u no the combo is only gonna be 3 hits, and when ya smoke its only 5 max, so just block allllllllllllllllll day long and counter.

Try rolling away if you get tripped or swept to set up your retaliation, dont just sit there after being swept only to be thrown. Just like any fighting game, this game will be 50/50 if you let it be 50/50. I'm suprised that no one rolls out of a mix up, oh well I just continue to do it and proceed to get wins.
Take care

I love the throw and breaker crap because ....it keeps you on your toes if you're trying to turtle!!! There should be a counter to everything to keep the pace of the game flowing otherwise you have players that hit you once or twice and block the entire match until the clock runs down and that would be lame.
Take care.

To those who ask how I know the bugger is a noob, thats cos I know the fella...
Basically i wiped the floor with his ass when he was using any other character, which includes cheesy characters like dairou or raiden. I just had probs using N-S against his turtling nightwolf. I used to think that N-S was a superb character, with offence tailor made to wriggle out of any situation. And it is true.. When playing characters like sub zero, Invisiblity coupled with correct amounts of low blocking and throwing within range after something like a cold shoulder has been executed gives the win all the time. When playing aggressive people like mileena and baraka, smoke usually takes them out easy. But that sucker Nightwolf taught me a few things. That N-S are predictable in terms of combos, and some of their moves could be much better. For eg, noob's 2-1-3 combo should be able to hit turtlers, as should smokeycut and up-4. I love this game, but it really seems that players are encouraged to turtle with fewer moves that hit them. Dragon style used to have a few safe ones to take them out, but not anymore, for eg. Yes, i Know that charge attacks like cold shoulder can hit them, but a miss would result in a combo or throw.

as far as ya 8 hit N/s combo... does it contain a launcher, yea thought so, im refering to ground combos....not smoke, throw, launcher, stars, 1,2,4,cs,1

That is precisely the problem... noob has max combo of three. smoke of five. only noob's chain combo hits turtlers... all predictable, even though at times disorientation could lead to letting go of the block button when noob or smoke tags out... they should have been given more variety with their moves. simply having so many special moves does not make up for it, esp since they have no weapon style.... I mean, shujinko has more moves and better ones at that, and still has a weapon stle.
