Hi guys. I have been asked by several people to make a thread on some tips on Puzzle Kombat and i am here to do that. This thread is for people who really like playing people on Puzzle Kombat and want some tips to help grow their skill a little bit. I myself LOVE Puzzle Kombat; i think it's better then regular Versus Kombat, But thats just me. Anyways heres some tips .
1. Don't use breakers on small blocks. I have seen people right in the start of the game use their breakers to break two blocks. That is a waste of a breaker and that would probably ruin the chance of getting that nice combo later in the game.
2. The more the better. To me, having more blocks is having a great chance of making nice combos. Don't think that just cause you have more blocks then your opponent, means you're gonna lose.
3. Have a certain order to your blocks. Try to organize your blocks in piles. Organization is a key to winning a match against a player. Just dropping
blocks in random places won't win the match for you.
4. Bomb bonus. Try to get the bomb bonus early in the game. If you get a bomb in the beginning of the game, and you barely have any blocks on your side, GET THE BONUS! Getting the bonus means the closer you get of using your special attack.
5. Pressure. When your blocks are starting to pile up and you only have 5 to 6 rows left until it reaches the top, don't pannic. Play as if you had 15 rows free. Playing under pressure can be tough, but playing it cool and calm will help you a lot.
6. Character Selection. All you Raiden users are wasting your time. Why pick Raiden when there is Jade? Jade's stack ability is 10000000x better then Raiden's. If you're a Raiden user, i suggest you switch to Jade and you will see a HUGE difference.
Recommended to Offensive players : Jade, Sub-Zero, Sindel and Nightwolf.
Jade is just an amazing character. She is the overall best offensive character in the game.
Sub-Zero will ALWAYS help you when your oppenent starts to panic. When your opponent's blocks get to the top and your oppenents starts panicking, freeze away.
Sindel is a very very very very very NICE character to get good with. Only problem is that her special bar takes much longer then anyone else. If your one of those crazy combo people and can get the special bar fast, this is the character for you. Once you use her ability and get 2 different breakers, total rape.
Nightwolf is a character against those who are combo friendly. Get rid of those annoying breakers on your opponent's side so they can't do a crazy 4x combo. Another good thing about Nightwolf is that his special bar goes up REALLy fast.
Recommended to Defensive players : Kabal, Scorpion.
Kabal is such an amazing defensive character. 2 BOMBs. What better to get rid of those blocks. If you're all about defensive tactics, Kabal is the character for you.
Scorpion is an awesome character to screw up people's organized blocks. If their are breakers laying around, you should be careful when using Scorpions ability, it may jumble the pieces but it might break a huge amount of blocks and screw you over.
