After the warriors of Earth entered the Outworld and opposed Shang Tsung and Quan Chi the two sorcerors rebelled against each other and in the end Quan Chi managed to kill Shang Tsung. Quan Chi gained total control over the Dragon King's army and led his forces into the realm of Edenia.

Kitana's forces met Quan Chi's but his army was far too powerful for her to defeat. Many warriors died in Edenia and Quan Chi enslaved all who survived including Kitana. Quan Chi crowned himself as the new king of Edenia and forced Kitana to become his Queen. Quan Chi established a new force with warriors gathered from all of the realms and will soon lead his gigantic army into Earthrealm.

Raiden received a message from the Elder Gods about Quan Chi's threat to Earthrealm and began to take action. Raiden gathered the greatest warriors on Earth and some from the other realms and created an army of his own. Now these two mighty forces will soon clash, and only one will prevail leaving the entire balance of the realms in the result of MK6.
