He didn't really come back, it was his ghost self that came back.

And his corpse was resurrected by Raiden in order to "preserve Earthrealm" by killing people. The ghost doesn't do a whole lot and is unplayable unless you use a Cheat Device (Gameshark, AR max)

I think it made a tremendous impact as it was Raiden who brought Liu Kang back to life, so it really showed, or even symbolized in some ways Raiden's change in attitude towards the humans.

I think it would have been unexpected if he came back in MK:A. But it was way cooler that he came back in Deception because that was when Raiden turned evil.

I think he came back because of Shujinko's champion status. Even though fake, to remind us that Liu Kang is/was the champion.

Since the begining of the Mortal Kombat franchise, the worst thing that the Midway team has done was bringing Liu Kang back in Deception.

That was even worse than bringing everybody back in Armageddon.

No, bringing every character for MKA was the bigest mistake Midway did. It ruined MKA.

well, after Shang Tsung killed liu kang,he took his soul and use his body on the bad side.after Raiden`s bomb to the dragon king,all the souls from the army was free.they all went to heaven,but not liu kang.

so liu kang is trap in the spirit world.then nightwolf came in the spirit world by the help of Blaze.Nightwolf show liu kang the way out of the spirit world.last he reunided liu kang`s soul to his body, by a lighting bolt.here is the video

Liu's corpse was resurrected by RAIDEN, not Shang. Liu's spirit ws anchored to KITANA. It makes no sense to not want to go to the spirit world yet end up there. Also, Blaze was not involved with Liu's death IN ANY WAY.
