It's something on the wall, not on Raiden's body. I don't want to go to the hassle of taking a picture (stupid Print Screen + Paint doesn't work for movies) so I won't point to it, but you'll notice it stays on the wall, doesn't follow Raiden.

Looks to be some kind of insects on the wall. They don't follow Raiden at all.

That level is full of bugs there are bugs running all over the place. It's the beetle lair or something. It has nothing to do with Raiden.
