I'm only hoping that they are unlockable. Quan Chi is my 2nd favorite character ever. They could make him so cool. They need to do better with his Fatalities though.

As for Shang Tsung, that would be a badass Fatality. I don't mind if he is or isn't unlockable though. I just want Quan Chi.

Quans Skull Wall was pretty cool. I like the fact that it protected hima nd wasn't a 'reflect' move. It'll be interesting to find out if it negates damage from any type of attcak and not just projectiles.

As for Shang, I wouldn't want to see another fire Fatality. But, this one could look cool if the flames actually attacked you in some way as though they were alive. Imagine a flame biting you.

Both are supposed to be unlockable, so hopefully they'll make it. It looks almost definite that they will now.

I could care less about Quan Chi, I like Shang Tsung more. I just hope the secret characters aren't like Mokap and Blaze where you have to highlight someone else and push certain buttons to play them and have their own square.

After seeing what happened with Quan Chi just before Raiden's blast I started thinking about a fusion between those two, but I don't really know.
And Shang Tsung is more than dead now. :P

Anyway, it would be kind of nice to have those as super unlockable characters.

i like shangs moves from DA he can keep those i dont really want him to have his morphing moves i didnt like it. and with quan he should keep he skull move i like it but that kick he did in DA was stupid

Yes, Quan is one of my faves too! I'd be thrilled to have him back..and if he has that Wall move, so much the better. As for Tsung, I really like him too...and if he were to have that as a finisher I would be very happy with it as a fatality!

Absolutely! I would be very interesting to see if "the wall" could hold up to special projectiles (such as Scorp's spear and Hotaru's fireball) and if it could withstand other attacks as well. It's also good cause It a move that marks Quan as a magic using sorcerer. In the previous game, the only thing he had to this end was the skull fire ball. He didn't really have that "powerful sorcerer here" feeling about him! So this would be nice. I also hope he has other magic based moves.

Where Shang is Concerned: I know what you mean about the "fire" fatalities..But this one is..I dunno different. It's not like others we've seen, it looks very unique as the Flame Cobra Bites into the opponent, and then slams them to the ground from high in the air, engulfing them in flames. Not to mention it just looks cool! I definitely like it!

Shang Tsung Fatality Concept (Thanks to TomTaz):

Shang concentrates and an aura of souls appears around him. The souls begin to transform into flame until Tsung is completely surrounded by it. Shang gestures with his hand and he conjures the fire into the shape of a serpent. The flame serpent flies directly at the opponent, swallowing and enveloping him. The serpent remains there for a few seconds, then explodes. Once the dust clears, you see a charred skeleton in the middle of a huge crater. Fatality.

i was looking at the character select screen and it didn't look like shang stung or quan chi are on there - then again i could only see the outline for half of the characters and if they'll be in they probably look really different. i think they should really have quan chi in MK:D, maybe shang stungs too- the more characters, the better. quan chi had a badass weapon technique, and the two swords look a lot better than the mace he had in mk4. i think it's a big chance they'll be super unlockables - but unlockables....not much of a chance counting a lot of characters that we havn't see for long are showing up, and some we've never seen b4

If they bring back Quan, they need to give him a GOOD fatality. If anyone remembers his DA fatality, it was BAD...REAL BAD. The worst in MK history, and I think it'll always be the worst.

Definitley not the worst in history. The worst in History was Jax's in MK3 where he grew 100x greater size and stepped on the guy. That's the worst Fatality ever. Anyway...

Quan Chi needs to come back. He is too important in the story to be killed off this quick. Now that he has an important role in taking out the Dragon King aka Onaga, and as he is side with Shang Tsung and Raiden. Who knows, now maybe Shao Kahn will return (::prays::) and he will join Onaga and use him to kill Quan Chi and Raiden and Shang Tsung, just in order to get them out of the way. Then he would turn his back on the Dragon King, kill him, and gain control of Outworld once again. I'm looking too far ahead...

Hmm..A merging of Raiden/Quan? VERY interesting concept there (infact, I may just draw a concept pic of that later!). I think that would be a most powerful character indeed. Though I like Quan to much to want to see it actually happen. I'd prefer him to stay himself.

While I certainly wouldn't mind the morph coming back, I agree with you that they are not necessary. Shang Tsung is a deadly character in his own right, and does not need to shapeshift to others to be effective.

Quan: As stated above, I would like to see Quan get more moves that mark him as a sorcerer. His Green skull is great, and I would love his Tele-stomp back as well. However, lol, unlike you I really like his Rising Star! I used it all the time in DA..it's fast, and if you are fast enough it can be used to slide under most projectiles and moves; so I'd want him to keep that.

Both of those looked amazing. I really hope Quan has that as a special move, and if that Cobra attack is one of Shang's fatals, i'd be VERY happy!

Im all for the Shang Tsung fatality thats already been mentioned but as for the Quan Chi Skull Wall.....Nah, I agree it would look amazing, and the concept of a projectile blocker is great...

However, someone like me would just sidestep the wall and pretend it wasnt there...If you get me?

Id be more inclined to to for a Skull Circle, which forms round Quan, blocking the next hit/projectile, this would be such a cheap move for some people, who could just form a wall wen they're winning, and there isnt much time left, but at the same time, it would be a strategical move....
say ur facin Scorpion, and and he does his Teleport Kick, you make ur Skull Circle, he hits hit, rebounds off it and rolls back, allowing u to hit some type of juggle move etc...

But the look of the Skull Wall on the intro vid? Awesome, I love it.

I don't think Quan Chi and Shang Tsung will be playable at all (Lockable or Not). I think they will be on Conquest mode. they pretty much named all who will be playable.
