Reality Check: Lets not get too excited just yet
Yes, the next Mortal Kombat game is upon us! And so far all the stuff that Midway has thrown at us (pictures, screenshots, renders, interviews, etc) look simply awesome! Heck! Dare I say it, it's bordering on orgasmic! And with that, everyone is getting hyped up, yours truly included. And the urge to control the excitement is never an easy battle (I should know)!
But don't forget that anything can happen from now till the game's release later this year. A lot of stuff that we've seen so far could get scrapped in the end, mainly due to time constraints. We've had this happen many, many times. The last game alone should be evidence of this. In MKDA, we unlocked tons of kool stuff in the krypt, from concept art to renders to possible characters, moves, fatalities, arenas, ideas, etc! But of all that, how much was actually in the game itself?
Now, I'm not saying that the game developers could be pulling a fast one. No. I'm sure they are just as hyped up as we are to see all that has been mentioned thus far make it into MKD. What I'm saying is that if anything gets removed from the game eventually, we have only ourselves to blame for the disappointment that comes with it. I have been guilty of that myself. So, let's take it slow, pray that everything they've teased us with makes it into the game, and get ready for the best MK of all time!

I think I can get excited. I am one of those people that can been excited about a game and also I don't believe in "hype". What I know about MK6 so very very interesting. With all these new addations to gameplay the challage of mastering the AI and the new engine and then going online to test that skill that I have made sounds like a wild good time. I'll say there are somethings, (mostly the character line up) that I would like to change like Frost in the lineup, but even if she not end I know that she will get another chance another day. As for the here and now I am eager to go with the flow and find a new fav or create my own fav. MK6 is going to be a game like no other and because of that I can 't wait for it

Good thread man.
I understand what your saying perfectly and like Frost4584, I don't believe the hype. MKDA was fine to me and I wasn't bothered about the things that were missing fro the game. I enjoyed what was there. And I'm going to do the same with MKD. There are some characters I'd like to see. Especially Raiden. But there are other faves in there and so I'll accept this game for what it is and what it has when it comes out. That way I'll enjoy, just like MKDA.

This game deserves some hype.. but it's going to get to the point where it's so hyped that it's disappointing.
I expect a hugely better game than MKDA. I don't expect the 2nd coming of the franchise (MK2 powerful).. this game has been in the making for a while.. but not that big of a while!
Besides.. there will always be a feature in every game that has come short in someone or anothers mind.
IMO though.. MK:D will be fackin' sweet.. and have the potential to make fighting game of the year.. !

Good point, but most of the stuff MKDA that was promised then scrapped never made it past concept. Most of the things they've been hyping for MKD has been shown in action on screen shots. Anything that's made it to that point in development can be assumed here to stay, though I wouldn't be surpised if Konquest mode gets toned down by the release.
