Have there been any characters that are returning, that you didn't like in their appearence(s) in MK thus far, but you now expect to be a favorite of yours? In other words, characters that have redeemed themselves, based on trailers or screenshots?

For me I would say Ermac. In UMK3, I wasn't that crazy about him, as he was just another boring pallette-swap ninja without much of a story. But I really like his new MKD look, especially the bandage-like mask. Also his fighting styles and weapon look really cool.

Have you guys found any characters you're excited about giving a second chance?

I think it's too early to say characters have already redeemed themselves, but I'm hoping Li Mei and Nightwolf will make up for their previous lackluster appearences.
I also wasn't into Ermac in MKT either, I hope he's good too.

I agree with Ermac being a redeemed character. When he first appeared as a true playable character int MK there was no real draw for me to him, I was not intrigued by his story, he looked like every other ninja, and his move set just didn't do it for me. From what I've seen in trailers and gameplay footage though he is probably one of the characters that intrigues me the MOST of the characters in MKD. Other than that all the other characters I'm excited over I liked in the first place, the ones I did not like I will spend time kicking the shit out off.

I'm always willing to give characters a second chance. Once upon a time, back in MK2/MK3 days, Kung Lao was one of my least favorite characters. He was just "that other monk" in my eyes and he really didn't interest me at all. In MKDA, his new look and moveset and revamped story made him one of my top favorite characters.

So every character will be given a second chance by me. I have high hopes for Nightwolf, Ermac and Sindel, three characters I never cared for previously.

I know it's too early to say they've been redeemed, at least gameplay-wise, or in storyline, but I think it's safe enough to say if a character has redeemed him/herself aesthetically, that is, in appearence. I like playing with characters that look cool, and have cool-looking moves or fighting styles.

Nightwolf finally looks cool, rather than the fancy dress loser he looked like in MK3/MKT. I hope he has more interesting moves this time round, since he was quite useful, but I found him boring before.

nightwolf sindel kabal sektor sub-zero (i never liked subby that much but now he looks awesome) have all been redeemed

last chance for me is liu kang (if they get rid of the turkey gobble sound effects and actually let him lose a fair fighti might actually like him)
