I hope this isn't a redundant question, I guess nostalgia warrants asking things like this -just looking for an honest answer from the MK fanbase that maybe Midway's staff will hear. I know MK:DA is good and I have nothing against 3D engines like that but...

how many of you would like to see a future MK (maybe even MK6) in 2D digitized style? I'm talking an echo of what MK2 was in style.

I LOVED MK2, it is and will always be my favorite game in the series and possibly the BEST game ever in the fighting genre - all of this my opinion of course. I have so many fond memories of first seeing it in arcades to the rumors and discussions while playing and all the cool secrets that everyone found and the possibilities of those that may still have to be found - we never know. That is why I am asking this.

I just wanted to add to that above comment. Even if MK2 style is done and gone forever in your opinions it would be REALLY nice if Midway could rerelease MK2 on all the new machines in the full original arcade glory (no cutbacks) and possibly even add some additional elements or bring some old rumors to life (a new revision of an old classic specially for home).

I doubt it would ever happen... perhaps if there was someway to get photorealistic, digitized 3-D characters, but it seems to me that 2-D is dead (or at least dying, the only 2-D games which are still thriving are games like MvC and KoF... allstar, over the top, insanely complex fighters which I can't see MK ever doing)

I would really like to see a reissue of MK2, though. I mean, how hard would it be? Granted, you can get a MAME and run the MK2 arcade rom on your computer, but it really isn't the same, especially if you have to use a keyboard to control it.

Yeah, I would rather go out and purchase a copy of MK2 for my PS2. But like I was saying, I would love it if they did a new revision (like they used to do in arcades). I don't mean change the basic gameplay, but rather add some of the rumors to the game like Torch (Flare, Blaze, whatever), Kano/Sonya transformations, Smoke, Noob, Jade as playables, a Polar Bear fatality for Subbie, possibly even elf fatalities in the Living Forest (like the old Keebler rumor), hook fatalities on Dead Pool, etc...things like that - all the rumors of the day, if possible, put them in for us fans. I miss those days of MK2 arcade. I would love to figure shit out again and think of all the rumor possibilities.
