A lot of chars in Deception have obviously been added to "replace" other, older ones.
Kira serves as a replacement for both Kano and Sonya. They did thus by combining styles and special moves. Gawd, I hate combination characters...
Kobra is obviously a replacement for Johnny Cage. Don't like both of 'em, but it looks like Kobra has a rather cool move where he goes up in smoke, so that makes him cooler than Cage in every way -_- (go figure)
And yes, Havik AKA Shang Chi. Another combo char.
What's your opinion on these "replacing" chars?

Just because they have "nearly" the same moves doesn't mean they're klones. A clone is defined to be "genetically" alike in every way to another character. Mileena is an example (and the only one), as she is a clone of Kitana, though she went wrong (with the whole grotesque part). As for the others:
NOTE: Some may include spoilers.
Ashrah: Has "some" of Kung Lao's moves, but is like no other kharacter, because she is, ironically, a demon trying to achieve purity.
Kobra: Has the fighting styles of Cage & Sonya, looks a tad like Sonya, but that's it. SPOILER: Kobra is with the Black Dragon, Sonya's enemies.
Havik: Havik may have the Deadly Alliance's styles, but that's all so far. Havik is out to stop Hotaru from bringing Order to the realms by causing Chaos.
Darrius: Thought to be Jax or Cyrax, he has an appearance like the two, but that's all. I believe Darrius is with Havik trying to cause Chaos.
Kira: Many think she's a cross between Sonya & Kano, but she's friggin fast & looks nothing like either of them.
