Ring Outs / Pit / Stage Fatals

posted01/29/2004 02:28 AM (UTC)byOkay how should MK6 handle this? Should it be possible to ring out in the middle of a match. If that happens, if you were fighting over a pit, can you kill someone mid match?
I think Boon and Co know that have to bring these back.
I'm more for a soul Caliber method. You can knock your person out, but its pretty hard to. Also levels could be designed in a way that would keep the fighters within a certain area. During fatality time, it can be easier to knock people over.

When you say during fatality time you can knock people over (something), that is refering more to stage fatalities if you ask me, and according to the game informer magazine, they are a definite confirmation and will be back.

Yea ring outs I think are a grey area. I think it's stupid that a player can win a match just but knocking the opponent out of the ring; however, the "invisible walls" of MKDA were kind of annoying because of the unrealistic element they brought.

ring out's seem idiotic, i know i play cheaply, but i play cheaply to the end, not til i just push someone off the edge, hell with certain moves you could win in not even a second, and the opponent wouldnt be hanicapped, i prefer the walls in mk:da, i thought it was cool

ring out should only become a possibility in the third round

Maybe I should rephrase it. If lets say the level is like the cliff level from MKDA. If you come to the side of the cliff, can the other player knock you off mid round, possibily fatality?

Certainly not. It would be pitiful for one player to dominate the match, and then with one hit, the losing player can win. Stage fatalities and pits I would like to see return, but definitly not ring outs.

There shouldn't be ring outs in the sense that if you're knocked out of the ring you automatically lose; but say you're fighting at the acid bath, and get knocked into the acid. You would lose a good chunk of your life, but the character would automatically climb out. Or in a stage on a high cliff or something, a character could be knocked "off" but grab hold of the edge and get back in the arena.
perhaps ringouts could be the return of multi-tiered fighting - where you could knock an opponent through a wall and continue in a secret room. or perhaps through a window and continue the fight at the level below because lets face it, knocking someone through the roof (mk3) is less real and no hole in the floor/ceiling remains.

Thats what I'm trying to say. It could be interesting for the different ways people could get back in. Scorpion and Raiden could teleport back up. Reptile could do some sort of huge lizard frog jump. Cyrax could have some sort of rocket boost back up. Sub-Zero could use a freeze move to boast himself back up. Kenshi could just levitate himself back up.
Yet knowing Boon and Co, if they went with this they would just probably do somesort of grabbing the side and throwing your selfup for everyone instead of unique jumpups. It would be cool if you could pull some sort of attack from the hanging position like a trip, or pull a Morpheus and kick the agent err opponent.

im not feelin the ring outs while i am a devout SC2 junkie lets keep MK as MK. Stage Fatalities i say hell yes. But ring outs in MK would be cheap. although i think it would be nice do implament a DOA type thing but keep that seperate from the Stage Fatalities.

Ring outs are good for other games, but they would't fit in mk.... NOW, stage fatalities are a MUST!!!! and lots of them

how about kind of a test your might at the edge, some how? like the guy hangs on to the edge of a cliff, and he can mash the buttons faster than the other guy before he gets to him, he can climb back up... if not the guy runs over and steps on his hand or something...and he falls into death. I think it would be interesting.

Actual MK matches shouldn't be won based on who casn press the buttons fastest; it then becomes a "button masher game," of which I feel the MK team is trying to stear clear.

As someone mentioned, RINGOUTZ could be done at any time during final battle; this would be O.K. in my book of the dead. ring outz could be toggled on/off in optionz
4 barrierz - I really disagree with the invisible wallz. To look better, they could use waist-high wallz. A pop-up move at the end would send other up & over & into pit. Other levelz could have full wallz to bust through during roundz and at the end of final battle(for fatalz)
There should be different kind of levelz: weponz/objectz, hazardz, multi-tiered/busting into other areaz, & the GRUESOME!!!
