Scorpion = Only true "Ninja" in MK, but he doesn't use Ninjutsu... WTF?
It has been said many times before- like many topic's here- but I will say it again out of pure frustration.
Scorpion is the only true "Ninja" in the MK series yet he doesn't use Ninjutsu as one of his fighting styles. In your mind, what was the reason behind this odd decision, and what fighting styles do you expect to see Scorpion using in MK:D?

Other than the fact that all Ninja's studied and practiced Ninjitsu in secrecy within the mountains of Iga and Koga, while seperating themselves from the control of the Shogun and their Samurai... and that until recently (last 50 years), the art of Ninjitsu had been only known and practived by those that were Ninja's...
no, other than that, there isnt a rule that says all Ninja's need to know Ninjitsu...
In other words, Ninja's dont practice Hapkido and Moifah... they practice Ninjitsu...
34_thatruth_34, if you see Ed before I do, give him a smack for me.
Hehe but seriously... madening isn't it?
In every other fighters case (more or less) I can see arguments for and against what styles he/she should be using. But Ninjutsu!? Good God, please do the right thing Boon and give it to Scorpion.

i wouldnt say madening... it would give some reality to the game, but the game will be just as good regardless.
THey kind of on a fence, cuz the game is far from real... after all, scorpion is a skeleton demon ninja with a flaming skull... but at the same time, they do want it to have real fighting moves and martial arts... so i dont see why not giving him his actual fighting style, if he is really suppose to be a Ninja.
At the end of the day tho, id rather have him being a skeleton demon ninja with a flamming head and have different moves than him being a regular ninja with his regular moves and no living spear coming out of his hand.

It has nothing to do with "text book" reality in my opinion. It's just a matter of common sense versus going against the grain just for the sake of going against the grain. Ninjutsu came from the Ninja clans, and Scorpion is the only true Ninja in the game. It's very simple logic. Just because the game is dark and based on fantasy elements doesn't mean that there are no rules. The styles should at least try to fit the character who is using them, and with Ninjutsu, it's a no brainer.
Hapkido as a matter of fact looks much more like Ninjutsu then any other style in the game (including Ninjutsu itself).
Call Hapkido Ninjutsu, and Ninjutsu Hapkido. Scorpion keeps his Hapkido style but now it's called Ninjutsu, and Syrax still gets Ninjutsu but now it's called Hapkido.

I agree with that completely.
And if Cyrax is in the game, he shouldnt succ like he did in MKDA... hes my fav. character and I never even wanted to use him in the last game.

hmm.. not all ninjas knows ninjitsu.. thats true.. because ninjas some knew ninjistu but there where clans where they learned samurai skills as well as ninjitsu... ninjas are usally seen as stealth assasins... also.. if scorp, and sub, and ermac, and smoke had all ninjitsu then it will be boring...

Ninja's combat fighting isn't ninjutsu. The nanme for the ninjas combat sysytem is "Taijutsu" which is both armed and unarmed combat.

and scorpion has neither of those as well...
your missin what the man is tryin to say, he's sayin that if Scorpion is a ninja, his moves should be the moves that a ninja would have.
whether it be Ninjitsue or "Taijutsu" or whatever, if ninja's have certain moves, and Scorpion is a ninja, then he should have those same certain moves.
Its like, if 'X' has 'A' And Scorpion is an 'X' Then Scorpion should have 'A'

The "Nin" means perseverance or endurance and the "Tai" means truth or philosophy.
"Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu" and "Bujinkan Budo Ninjutsu", are often used interchangeably.

Actually taijutsu is just the combat system of the ninja. Ninjutsu has 18 areas of expertise and combat is just one. Ninjutsu is the art of perserverence in order to live a better life, it isn't really about assinations and stuff. The assasinations happened in times of great turmoil. Over time the ninja's purpose has been twisted mostly by scholars who followed the samaruai ways.
The ninja is highly skilled and deadly. Only in a life and death situation. The ninja's skills were/are forms of protection not attack.
But yeah they should be more accurate with scorpions fighting technique.

WELL, i think ALL THE NINJAS FOR MK should have NINJUTSU as the main fighting style.(because NINJUTSU is a collection of differents arts or jutsus) but since theres a lot of JUTSUS in the art of the NINJAS...for example:
Aizuangojutsu - signaling (not sure I think hand signals)
Ankokutostoshijutsu - ways to see in the dark
Bakemonnojutsu - ghost art
Bajutsu - Horsemanship (fighting from horse back)
Bujutsu - science of individual combat
Dakentaijutsu - striking method
Dotonjutsu - earth escape art, like hiding underground or using the ground as an escape route
Genjutsu - magic and illusions
Hansojutsu - the art of disguise kind of like acting but making it real not just acting
Jujutsu - this is not the grappling art.... ten syllable power methods. "skills said to enable a ninja to accomplish what conventional warriors could only back away from,"Stephen Hayes
Jutaijutsu - ninja's style of grappling
Jojutsu - staff and cane fighting
Kappojutsu - resuscitation
Koppojutsu - art of bone breaking
Kiaijutsu - the art of harmonizing with the universal force
Kiaijutsu - shout of intention as a weapon
Kajutsu - explosives and fire arms
Koppojutsu - bone breaking or damaging
Koshijutsu - nerve or soft tissue striking
Kenjutsu - sword combat
Kyojutsu - making the impossible possible and making the possible impossible
Konsetsujutsu - joint working & joint locks
Mokutonjustu - wood escape art, like hiding in the trees or in a log on the ground or using the trees as an escape route
Masubitaijutsu - linking (not sure I think linking one empty hand technique and/or weapons technique to another)
Nawanukejutsu - Escaping from bonds. The process is easily visible to a guard or other person present, and can be interfered with. Due to childhood training, a ninja may use this skill to squeeze through openings which would normally be too small for a person of the ninja's size. The suppleness necessary for this special skill can only be achieved through childhood training. Ninjutsu - the art of ninja, ninpo, and nin
Oseijutsu - pinning methods of pinning your opponent to the ground with nobody hurt
Shakinojutsu - flag discarding......this is when an army copies the flags of the enemy and the enemy thinks it allies
Shoten no jutsu - vertical surface running
Suitonjutsu - water escape art, like hiding under water, or using water as an escape route
Shurikenjutsu - the art of throwing objects
Setonjutsu - snow shinobi
Saimonjutsu - hypnotism and mind control
Takemustaijutsu - forging
Taijutsu - unarmed combat
Taihenjutsu - rolling traveling method
Taihenjutsu - body movement
Toritejutsu - arresting skills
Unshinjutsu - the art of being invisible
Urataijutsu - reversing your opponents attack
SO, the fighting styles of
SCORPION could be:Koppojutsu , koshijutsu and for the weapon style: Kenjutsu.
For SUB-ZERO: Koppojutsu, Konsetsujutsu and Kenjutsu for the weapon..or Jojutsu (depending of his weapon)
BUT...i think if all the ninjas have the same or similar styles the game will be very boring......

*SGO*, very interesting ideas man, but just as a fyi Scorpion is technically the only "Ninja" in MK. Sub-Zero, Ermac, Reptile, Noob, Rain, Cyrax, and Sektor are all warriors and assassins, but they are not Ninja.
Scorpion should get Ninjutsu or Taijutsu because these styles were founded by the historical Ninja and they would fit Scorp better then anyone. There's just no way around it.

Scorpion = A ninja. Was one in life.
Sub-Zero & Smoke = Lin Kuei, who technically are chinese assassins not "ninjas". The elder Sub-Zero actually was insulted to be called a "ninja" in MKM.
Noob Saibot = Netherealm spy/hitman. Not bound to the styles of earth-realm or former earth-realm ninjas.
Ermac = Collection of souls in the form of an outworld ninja. Like Noob nothing says he follows the same trends as an earth-realm ninjas.
Rain = Another outworld "ninja" formerly working for Kahn. See Ermac.
Kitana, Mileena, Jade, & Tanya = All from Edenia/Outworld. Same deal as Ermac/Rain/Noob.
Cyrax & Sektor = More Lin Kuei trained characters. Chinese not Japanese.
So as you can see Scorpion is the only true ninja who acually lived and trained in Japan, thus there'd be no reason for the other "palette swaps" to use ninjitsu. Scorpion's the only logical character to posses ninjitsu, as none of the others are, or ever were, real "ninjas".

its really hard to say who is and who isnt. scorpion was a real ninja in his former life..and is now a ninnja spectre.
the lin kuei, however, is very confusing. in the orginal mk..the lin kuei were dubbed "chinese ninja-type assassins"...then in mk2 the second sub-zero was dubbed an assassin..in the mk3 series, sub-zero was called a ninja.."the ninja returns, unmasked".
in mkmsz, sub-zero denies being a ninja. it states in the mkm story that theyre a group of assassins and theives...and that the shirai ryu was the first ninja clan.
in mk4, the lin kuei wasnt called a group, assins, or what have you..it was simply called a "warrior clan".
in mkda, it was stated that frost was a ninja in sub-zeros ending.
now to cyrax, smoke, and sektor. in mk3 they were cybernetic assassins built by the lin kuei...which were later changed to cyber ninjas
so, game by game, the ninja crap keeps changing back and fourth.
by "tradition" scorpion would be the only ninja..although his teacher was once a member of the lin kuei.

About Me

the only thing that i can think and could makes sence is that scorpion before practicin ninjutsu practiced hapkido and the other one. and he became more skilled in them than in ninjutsu
First off, whoever said nin means perserverence, I heard differently. From what I've picked up, "nin" means shadow and "ja" means warrior. More on topic, yes, Ninjutsu did suck in DA and Hapkido was a totally kick ass style. I like the idea that Scorpion learned the other two styles first, we can stick with that one.

These are japanese terms.
Nin means endurance or perserverence. Jutsu means an art. If you wan't to find out what ninja's are all about do some "real research" instead of believing others.
