well in MK1-MK4:Gold his spear came from his hand , but since MK: DA he has been throwing it from his back.

I think thats one of those things your not supposed to look to deeply into. ya know what I mean?

Scorpion doesn't really have sleaves does he? Like a little arm band thingy, but not a sleave really in the movies he does... umm... I am not sure if his face comes of or if he has a skin mask along with his ninja mask... I'd think he would have a face and it would come off to unleash more power and since he is more of a mystical being he could regenerate his face some how... like in a flash of fire or some gross hyper healing technic... but thats all speculation... later

True, it's one of the mysteries of Mortal Kombat.

Originally, I believe that it was supposed to be part of his ninja prowess. Something up the sleeve, etc. When people saw it magically appear, everyone assumed that it was just coming out of his hand. He was a ninja spectre, afterall!

The movie made this point further by making it a creature that came from his hand.. A small serpent with infinite reach. The scene with Johnny Cage in the woods displays that fairly well. :P

In Deadly Alliance, they simply added it to his belt. You can see it hanging on his back for easy access...

I always assumed all of scorpions skin on his face is a mask as well as the ninja mask. Ah hell, who cares, hes a spectre, he can probably change his form to whatever. At the end of the day, Scorpion is the coolest!

he does have the spear behind his back in MKDA but in one MKDA render you can see the spear coming out of his hand. So, I don't know.

I think the MK team isn't too sure either.

Regarding his spear, I figured it was hidden somewhere in his costume; it would be wrapped around his body a little bit, in a way so that the tip would be near one of his shoulders. A couple feet of rope nearest the tip would be bunched up with it, so that he could simply jerk his shoulder, the tip would fall down into his hand, and he would just throw it.

Simple answer: He hangs the spear on his waist
