i was recently watching mortal kombat on dvd and got the thought of scorpion bringing sub zero to scorpions lair. say subzero goes for a jump kick on scorpion and scorpion just creates a portal to his realm, when sub zero goes into the portal he lands on his back. it would be like another area to fight in but only works if you connect the teleport move. similar to the multi tiers in mkd or mka. tell me what you think. thanks.

I think this idea is actually unnecessary. I'd hate to be fighting a character only to be warped to the same arena everytime I try to attach them. It'd get dull and theres really no benefit from doing it at all. It'd be just a waste of a moveslot and time, imo. Tier level design is all about building up the arena you have and then expanding it into further levels you can access via walking, knockdowns, breakages etc. Teleporting to a new place does not make any area a tier level. This old thread of mine shows ideas that can be used in tier level designs.

I think personally this idea would kick major ass...

Have Scorpion literally disappear into a puff of smoke like he does in the MK Conquest TV show in one episode and have him just punch you from the other side, lookwise in MK8 UR engine I think that would look so cool. The puff of smoke when he disappears should have like a skull face within the smoke that disappears into the air.

as much as i say it would be cool. it in all likely hood would not happen and im not sure i would want it to.

if such a thing were to happen, it would have to be its own move and scorpion better still have his other teleporting moves.

if there was any loading times at all, it would ruin the combat experience. it would have to be an instant change from realm to realm. or area to area w/e.

an idea i could see thats even more of a longshot. is that each level could have 2 sort of layouts, the regular, then scorpions red glow hell layout. and upon this move or whatever being accomplished. the level changes from its regular form to scorpions own realm, hell/constantine hell vcersion where everything is wreckage, fire filled and torn up with ashes from everything burning floating up into the air.

again, i dont think it will happen and i dont want it to happen, its too much work for the mk team to handle as they can barely handle a 3d game alltogether, lol. and it would take to long to re-render every level. plus fans would cry for reptile and subzero noob, smoke, sektor, cyrax, jax, kenshi sonya kahn, shang, quan etc...to have the same thing.

thanks for the idea but no thanks for the life of mk, or whats left for a chance at redemption in mk8.

That's the thing, it wouldn't have any big load times and would be in fact his new "teleport move"

It sounds a lot fancier then it actually sounds, believe me but his throw in MKA is actually a lot more chorographed and complex by far, if they could do that in animation then they could easier do my ideaglasses
yeah.. that's kinda cool. maybe it could be like some weird special grab
