scorpion
scorpion always threw his harpoon. It is not something that comes from his hand. Play MK1 and MK2, you can see that he uses both his hands to throw the harpoon. He throws it like a discuss. You know, spins himself then releases the weapon. That's why it's so slow to execute...
Finally, someone who's not an idiot. Most people are going off of the movie (I can only assume) and say that the spear comes out of his hand. Obviously, he simply throws it. This cancels out many of the Hara Kiris involving Scorpion's spear since he couldn't get enough momentum to throw it into himself.

I don't think he throws it.
I think it comes out of his hand.
But they have different versions of his weapon.
The movie and what I think is the original version is a snake-like creature coming out of his hand and then they have him holding a rope with a spear blade attached.
I like the snake-like creature version better.

Well said. Any popular franchise has different views. A good example of this is the Spider-Man comics. They have three different views of the series: TV(Cartoons mostly), Movies and Books(Namely The Comic itself). In the comics he has two Wrist-mounted web-shooters but in the movies he has holes in his wrist were he can shoot his webs like a real spider. It's the same issue here. In the game Scorpion throws the Spear and in the movies it comes out his hand. In the movies it is not a spear it is more like an endless hell serpent that impales like a spear.

Although I know he throws it. I would have preferred the snake. It was just so much kooler than throwing a spear.

I wish Scorpion would just keep it the same way as always because this seems to confuse alot of people. Some say he throws his spear, some say a snake-like creature comes out of his hand (via the movie). It doesnt really matter which way he does it, I just love that technique.

ya ive always known he threw his harpoon. the one thing that bothers me is that in DA they had a pic of scorpion throwin his harpoon and it was actually attached to his belt and went through his gauntlet...but when he was fighting there was no rope in the way. this was one way that i coulda confused people also. as long as they dont take away this move and his telekick (gotta love it) then he is the same old scorp!
so then how do u explain shujinko doing sub-zero's freeze? or raiden's torpedo attack? i don't think there's a real explaination for shujinko's moves.
about scorpion, i don't even think ed boon knows what the right answer is, the spear is on his belt, yet in some renders it clearly comes out of his hand. somebody should really ask him this in an interview.
