I was just thinking remember how cool it was when shang tsung could morph in MK one and two? well maybe the creators of mortal kombat can make him morph again in MK6. That would be so cool huh. Why noT? I hope they dont run out of disc space though. Your thoughts?

I think there was actually a technical reason on why they couldn't do it in MK:DA. I'd love to see the morph back but I don't think they'll be able to do it if they weren't able to do it in MK:DA.

i just dont understand how could they make him morph years ago when technology wasnt good and now that it is way better, they still cant do it. Havent we advanced our technology? I dont get it!

Load times.
The game would have to load the character model, and their fighting styles for him to morph. That would take time, and in a fast paced fighting game, you just can't have loading times during the matches.

a big fat DUH to the thread starter lol
yea, anyway, the people above me basically sumed it up..he cant/wont morph because of load times..its easier to morph a 2d character(mk1-mkt) but once u get into 3d it gets hard....(MK4 shinnok didn't morph, he just used special moves..no one liked that)
so Shang wont be morphing..i for one dont care..he still rules..second only to Shang Tsung in the baddy department and he isn't less evil or powerful without his morphinh in the fighting...he still has the power as seen in the MKDA intro

Yeah, he's still a major badass if he can't morph. I never used his morphs anyway. Tsung is one of my faves in MK: DA great fighting styles, good weapon, nice special moves and not a bad fatality.

Well I don't think he should be in MK6 and if he is going to be in MK6, then he doesn't really need to have his morphing abilities. I think his fighting skills and special moves are enough.
The reason Shang Could morph in the previous games was due mostly to the fact that the games were all on ROM, on the cartridges, such as sega, super NES, and arcade boards. So the data was virtually always available. What made them stop the morphing was the creation of the CD/DVD and mortal kombat in later games, in MK3/Trilogy the loading times were shown to hinder gameplay (sony playstation version of both of those games is plauged by that problem), and thus they were excluded as pauses in game play were unexceptiable, and the due to the advanced graphics, move set's and other "misc. data" needed for each character of the later games (mk4-mk:da) the load time before a match would be so extensive it would make loading between matches annoying.
So like other's before said, it's not because the "Can't" do it, it's because it woulnd't be efficant to.

yep, morphs = loading times, therefore morphs = bad
