Should the next tournament happen right after Deception?

I dont know if this should here or in general discussion?
after deception should the next tournament take place immediatly after deception or should they make the next story take place after like 500 years after deception in a completly new tournament with completly new kombatants or should they just pick up were deception leaves off?
this is kind of a jump into the future but just a thought.
i think after the death of the Dragon King there should be a long peace in earth realm until a new evil comes forth a long time later sparking a new tournament with new fighters.
what do you guys think?

i think the DK's reign will last longer than just one installment, afterall they used mkda just to set up his return. so yeah i think the next tournament will take place right after mkd remember that this tournament appears to only have outworld ppl. i think a portal or means of travelling between earthrealm again will open from an ending in deception so the survivors of mkda and of mkd will come together for mk7.
in terms of a jump to the future after the DK. alot of ppl dont like change, but i suppose you could still have undead characters return like scorpion. i dont think too many would like to see ALL NEW characters in an mk game but perhaps if certain characters are involved - like subzero could be way old in his blue robe and mitre with a grand clan or perhaps he could be a fighter like Pai Mei (killbill2) lol.
actually subzero could be the boss character and it could be evil's turn to climb the ranks and overthrow the good.
