Should the online feature of MK6 somehow be incorporated into the storyline?

Seeing as how Ed Boon has basically confirmed the addition of online functionality to MK6, would you like to see this result in the addition of a plotline that somehow involves the world-wide play? By this, I mean the formation of online "clans" that would be identified in the battle against the greater evil/good of the game? Ed Boon and Co. would of course develop the various clans, and players would then be allowed to pick which clan the best fit. Clans would then go head to head for win records, which would later affect the outcome of the storyline (Ed Boon and Co. would, I assume, be allowed to upload changes into the storyline that would be downloaded to players memory cards). Perhaps after a year or so of intense battles, clans would be reset and members of the victorious clan would be allowed to download some sort of prize content (i.e. new character, combos, even outfits). Thoughts?

Good and bad idea.
Good idea because fans have a say or so in the outcome of the story.
Bad because maybe not everyone who buys the game has Internet or is interested in playing it online. Or maybe they don't have fast enough speed to play it online.
But if it should be incorp'd into the story? I say no. I think online should be more like Arcade/Versus.

its kinda a good idea, but I dont think the winners should be awarded with stuff like costumes because some ppl arent going to be playing it often to gain wins for their team and they deserve the extras too.

I think the idea is pretty good, although i do not want to screw up the story's basic storyline. Although, if perhaps, there was a Role Play involved for the entire online thing, that would have its own story. That would be great.

For example...If you were Sub Zero, at level 15, you could choose between 2 weapons, mask or no mask, and what attacks you use with a limited freeze capability, but when you come in contact with an enemy or dojo, where someone is located, you can practice, and fight, along with chat. This would be sweet.

I think it is a great idea. I hope they do it. The only bad thing I can say about the idea is that many people don't have Broadband.I have a bad feeling that MK6 online will be Broadband users only and no 56k users :.(. Alot of MK fans that are using 56k would get screwed by this. They only should do it if they have it with noth Broadband and 56k users.
That is pretty much what I'm hoping for - an online story that does not interfere with the main MK6 plotline. It would be sort of an addition to make playing online more desirable (not that it isn't already ... I personally can't wait to whup on some of you guys! grin).

As for rewards, I still think that some sort of incentive for dedicated, diligant competition would be worth seeing. Not like you couldn't copy someone's memory card if you aren't the champion.

As for dial-up vs. broadband, I personally hope it's only for broadband users, as dial-up would lag everyone down a ton. The only resolution I see to this problem is to have an identification system for those who are on faster or slower connections. That way, faster players could opt to not play dial-up players. Besides, do any of the online systems even offer service to dial-up users? I am an ignoramus on this.
