My hypothesis is that the reason behind Smoke's return is that he found refuge in the Living Forest after MK3, and once the DK's assault manifested, he had no choice but to take sides and leave his sanctuary. Upon finding Subzero, he joined the new Lin Kuei and the rest is history(in my fanfiction).
Anyway, since it appears we're getting the dead pool stage remastered, do you think we'll get the Living Forest back also? I have a feeling they might implement the stage into the chess Kombat, which is kinda what I'm afraid of. I would much rather it be completely remastered and redone with a deathtrap and all(imagine knocking your opponent into the mouth of a tree).
Any thoughts?

I would rather see the Armory from MK2. It could have all kinds of weapons and a lava deathtrap.
The living forest would be cool though. It could have a scythe for a stage weapon. It should have a living tree deathtrap and mabye Smoke would be popping out of the trees(like in MK2)unless you choose him.

It would make a lot of since putting the Living Forest in it; which I'm sure with all the responses already abt. this topic in other threads, they'll find a way to put it in there (which I'd rather see it as a regular stage instead of the chess stages) but watch they'll either have these stages as hidden stages in regular battle or a gameshark code or something to use them as regular stages (what's with having the Deadpool without using the acid or hooks on the stage - too much of a waiste)

I'd really enjoy having a 3D Living Forest. I think it has a lot of potential. I hope they include it with the armory

On topic, I don't think that the Living Forest should come back because, as much as I'd like to see the old stages re-made and improved, I'd also like to see more new stages in the game. Wasn't it redone in 3-D in MK4?

Yeah but it was crappily done .Basically you were in a circle shaped grove or whatever .When I first heard you could go in and out of the background I thought it would be like my idea above .Don't get me started on my dislike of MK4.
I refer you to this:

Which no one seemed to give a rat's ass about. **sniff**
Anyway, Smoke's MK3 ending showed that he would be stuck in his Cyborg body forever.
His human UMK3 ending showed that he was freed, but it got retconned. Instead, in MKT, his appearance as a human was only 'his memory', and non-canon.

Man, i really hope so! The idea of falling into the mouth of the tree is good. What about if they could stage fatalities with vines along the ground reach up and strangle the fighters, like that guy on the floor getting dragged down in the original living forest. That would be pretty cool.

I just hope if they decide to put the living forest in that they dont give them the happy faces that they did in mk4 lol. Hell, the trees could eat the characters for a stage fatality! I would love to see the armory!

Temp, you once again raise great ideas and points, man. It could be possible, and i wouldn't be surprised, but keep in mind that it was already was remastered in MK4. I think a stage fatality would be great to see. Maybe the one you said(very good acctaully), or they could do a basic sharp branch sticking up to implae one who is unnfortuanite enough to get close to it.
