.. that this game is complete shit compared to something like SSFIV. It also doesn't look that fun when a lot of characters share moves and have god awful fatalities.

Is it worth getting it or should I just wait for MK9?

Good opinions only, please.

Sounds like you've made up your mind.

Firstly its the best 3D MK. Period. Full Stop.

Secondly, your friends are right it doesn't play as nice as a Street Fighter IV or a Blazblue or a Soulcalibur.

The fatalities are a bit tame but some of them have charm. I mean there is blood, exploding skeletons and boom! head shots.

Cast is too small.

I didn't see too much move sharing. Saw a lot of animations used from previous MK games...

But it does have an enjoyable story mode.

Overall it depends how cheap you can get it - £15 or less and yeah. Any more and it really depends how much you wanna see Scorpion and Joker knock sever shades of shit out of each other.

My Top 3 MK Games:
1. UMK3
2. MK2
3. MKvsDC

It's not the greatest game, but it is the greatest 3D MK game. It goes back to the 2D playing style, where all 3D movement seems more optional. Street fighter, definitely better. But I think you can get it for pretty cheap now, so if you have the cash to spare, might as well.
