It prolly won't be explained till MK9, but if not. It could be ignored altoghter. But if it's explained through this game, then that's gonna be pretty cheezy.

I highly doubt that the characters in this game will follow Armageddon's story.

And I'm pretty sure that they're are not going to consider in throwing away 51 of the 62 characters that have made for Mortal Kombat. That's WAY too many to throw away, but still, let's wait until we get more information about who else is in the game first. Then we can go back and ask this question... just saying this out of curiosity of course, seeing how some people take that a little to far on this site.

Just at the point of Blaze's destruction, Franlin Richards wished all of the Kmbatants into a pocket universe, thus saving them from the Armageddon that destroyed the other warriors.

Now, Liu Kang and the rest find themselves in a new universe filled with strange beings of various powers and abilities. They seek out Captain MArvel who alone has the power to return he Kombatants to "Earth 56"..Eh, I got tired or wriing this nonsense...
