I know I am probably going to get yelled at... but who is Sareena?
I keep hearing her name, but I don't remember who she is. Was she ever a playable character in Mortal Kombat? Because if she was, I never unlocked her! :)

she was a character in MK Mythology:Sub-Zero.
She had a really cool look, a bit like Sindel but with shorter hair and more warrior like.

Cool! Thanks Ras!
I think I remember seeing her when I played that game, but I am not sure.

She's a (ex-) member of the Brothers of the Shadow, and was spared by Sub-Zero when he went into the Netherealm to retrieve Shinnok's amulet. After Shinnok was defeated in MK4, she escaped the Netherealm around the same time as Quan Chi and sought out the younger Subby, asking him for assylum from Quan Chi. Subby accepted, but she may turn on him, as is her demon nature.
She was first seen as a NPC in Mythologies, and was introduced into MK:Tournament Edition as a secret playable character. It's suspected that she might be in Deception, but so far, we have not heard anything to confirm or deny those suspicions.

She was never a part of the Brothers of the Shadow but more likely part of quan Chi's faction of undead female assassins

^^^ I couldn't stand her look. She was also in MK: TE for the GBA

Yes, she was a member. Remember, before he betrayed Shinnok, Quan Chi used to be a general in the faction. The only connection between her and Quan is that in the Netherealm, she needed Quan's magic to keep her human guise, instead of reverting back to her demon form. When she escaped, she used the energies of the realms to serve that same purpose.

That maybe true but Quan Chi's Women rival Shinnok's brothers of the Shadow.

Kia, Jataaka, and Sareena were Quan Chi's personal assassins but they were also members of the Brotherhood of the Shadow. They all had the Brotherhood symbol tattooed on their shoulders.
Sareena betrayed the Brotherhood because she helped Sub-Zero defeat Quan Chi when they fought because she wanted him to help her escape the Netherealm. Her human form was destroyed by Shinnok and she was banished to the 5th plane as punishment. In TE she escaped etc etc.

Hard to believe. Cuzz I always thought the brothers of the Shadow all look like Noobsaibot. Ninjas dressed in black. I can't pic Chi's personal assassins as part of the same faction. They are fefinitely part of the same army of darkness though.

AND REIKO?

No, not necessarily. Being apart of the brotherhood of the Shadow does not automatically make one a black ninja. Noob exclusively dressed he way he did because he was a stealth warrior.
Sareena is apart of the Brotherhood of the Shadow. No question about it.

Sareena is a beautiful lady, with short hair, and a real good looking face.

| Anyanka Wrote: I don't recall it ever saying the logo Shinnok's cronies use is specifically the Brotherhood. Reiko wears it yet he is never mentioned as a member. It could just be a generic Shinnok logo. |
Honestly, I always assumed Reiko was a member. True it never specifically says, if it is just Shinnok's symbol and the Brotherhood of the Shadow worship Shinnok, it seems logical.
Another thing, in regards to Quan Chi's assassins and their relationship to the Brotherhood, in MK: Mythologies Quan Chi claims to be the leader of the Brotherhood.
He says "Join my Brothers of the Shadow and worship our lord, Shinnok."
So you figure, if Kia, Jataaka, and Sareena work for Quan Chi, and he runs the Brotherhood, you'd think they'd be members too.

No word yet. I personally hope she'll be good. I think she has more potential good than evil.
