I think that is what is going on here. Appeal to the mass market while still allowing beloved characters to exist. It's been said before that Ed likes the Namco titles and after YEARS of recreating the same universe I can see where this is going.

It would be ideal to just have a DCU fighting game only, but it is awfully early to tell how good the gameplay will be. It is certainly odd to think about Reptile frying Wonder Woman's face, but how cool would it be to see Sindel fighting Black Canary? Ooh. Sonic obliteration.

I think the team is testing the waters. All the 'DOOM!' cries are a bit premature unless you are a MK fan that is only into the games for cheap thrills with animated gore.

Let's face it - the story has been majorly screwed up for years now anyway. Need to calm down, cool off, and wait for E3 because unless you are here for the GAMEPLAY, then you have a fairly shallow need for gore.

MK may be known for gore, and I think that's the problem for Ed. He wants it to be known for the hyper addictive gameplay like all the other popular fighting game franchises.

CRY MOAR, because sure, that will change everything. tongue

Winner. He's doing the right thing for this franchise.

I wish they could have given us a LITTLE more, but I am sure that marketing is being tight lipped on purpose just like on all the other titles in the past. Secrets seem to attract people.
