could just be because the programmer didn't feel like telling it to stop upon entering the Nexus :D BUT it could also be because you're right :) you should try sitting there for a year and seeing if you find anything ... the date does have something to do with it sometimes right?

I sat there for 2 weeks and nothing happened....hmm this could take a while

I was thinking maybe if you meditated up to the date mk deception or previous titles came out something may happen i figure each time you play spend as much time meditating as possible and go to the nexus at the exact month these games came out its worth a shot.It would take forever to pin point the month and year nevertheless i think there is something in the Nexus.
The Nexus was created by the Elder gods as a gateway to all realms it could be a personal playground for Midway to hide their secrets.I think its weird that they said time has no bareing in the Nexus but time does still pass either a mistake or they are hinting at something
I was also thinking that maybe the special edition may hold some clues to secrets or certain things unlocked out of the krypt
I also wanted to add that there definitly is hidden characters there is no doubt in my mind.For how large and complex Konquest is not to mention how well hidden some of the koffin keys were to find.
I think we are all in for a big suprise with this one and indeed will konsume us it has so far....
