I like the fact that Noob Saibot is on the side of evil, and Smoke is on the side of good, but yet they form a team. I like the idea of that.
As for Kabal, I always wanted him to be evil, but as long as he has a good storyline, i'm fine.
And Tanya, I just hope she has a good storyline, better than the one in MK4.
I just hope that all of the stories all come together into one to one ending.

Hmm. That's interesting. Maybe in his ending, Kabal will attack Kira, and get surpirse attacked by Mavado, and Mavado kills him. I hope not, then Deception will be a prequel.
I think that Smoke is decieving both Noob and Subby. Maybe he'll lead Sub-Zero into a trap, have Noob attack Subby, and when they both are weakened, Smoke will jump in and kill them both.

i think and hope many characters will switch sides. i bet that mit cause the dk to get messed up because alot of them are probably tricking him like noob is and all want power

and i love how Darrius and Havik are close allies (my favorite characters in the game!!!!) thats a very CHAOTIC alliance!!
And i hope Tanya decieves everybody and takes the throne for herself, makin her the baddest bitch in ever!! i hope she kills Sindel and Mileena!!!

The relationship between Smoke and Sub-Zero is that they were allies in the old Lin Kuei. When the Lin Kuei started to turn its guys into robots, Sub and Smoke tried to escape together, but Smoke was captured and turned into a robot with a mission to kill Sub-Zero. In MK3 Sub-Zeros ending says he helped Smoke regain his humanity or something. Smokes ending says he realized he had his sole but is forever trapped. As for which one of these if any is part of Smokes story in Deception, I dont know.

I think ultimately Scorpion will come out on the side of evil. It was said (From German or English Games Convention thing, I think German though) that Scorpion's ending begins with a frame of him above Quan Chi, with Onaga in the background. I think that the Elder Gods will offer Scorpion Quan Chi's head if he helps defeat Onaga, but not intend on doing so, so Onaga will offer Scorpion Quan Chi before he reaches Onaga, but in return Scorpion must side with Onaga. It removes the problems of:
-Staleness to Scorpion's Revenge Story.
-Scorpion's Neutrality.
-Add's to Deception theme.
-Gives Sub-Zero a reason to want to stop Scorpion, if Scorpion is given the chance before after meeting the Elder Gods.

Actually, according to inside info, Scorpion has finally made the full transition to good.
I really don't know why this surprises people. I mean, Scorpion was a family man.

Scorpion being good wouldn't surprise me. But, if he doesn't have a powerfull nemesis and Sub was for a time, then it might seem that he may loose his edge. Sure Quan Chi is a good canidate, but Quan Chi hasn't been truly made into an ultimate badass as of yet.
If Quan Chi and Scorpion have their rivalry then it should be a good one. The MKDA vids we've seen offered glimpses of what could be btw the two, but it seems that the MK Team isn't confident in delving into that scenerio too much. Scorpion has to have someone to feud with. Sure as hell can't be Big Bird.

I think Ermac will either end up neutral or evil. Possibly under control again. I can also see Kenshi swapping sides. Sub-Zero, also. Li Mei might end up evil & Kobra may end up good.

I like everything so far, really. Just as long as they decide not to kill of any more characters *cough*KABAL*cough*, I'll be good.

I could also see Havik and/or Darrius turning evil. Hotaru could turn good as well. I can see Smoke being evil as well.

the plot for the characters is turning out really interesting.There's a breath of fresh air in the storyline....i want to know what's the story for Rayden,judging from his look,he seems evil-oriented,but maybe i'm wrong and he's really pissed off....i think the explosion he made to kill the Dragon King has something to do with that....time will tell.

I'm relieved to find that Li Mei is still on the good side, more or less because I find the idea of her being evil really stupid and a cheap trick into getting people to like her. Yay good Li Mei.

I agree. Evil Tanya has so much potential. When I think of her as a good guy/giril, I see her weak.

My predictions/ideas of characters:
1.)Lui Kangs soul will be contaminated by evilness by his zombie form leaving him Evil
2.)Other souls of the dragon kings army are trapped within Li Mei, and they all want to take over her body. Leaving her Evil and Good at times.
3.)Nightwolfs mind will be tortured by evil within the Netherealm leaving Nightwolf mind impure of holyness, and created a whole new crazy man.
4.)I would also like to see Tanya be evil (NOT GOOD) cause I think it would kinda ruin her storyline, too me they made her seem like a weak minded person who is seeking for a leader, why cant she lead herself...?
All 4 of those characters I mentioned have potential to being evil, the only ones who I think can possible not become fully evil is Li Mei.

I think it's interesting that there is a lot of side switching and back stabbing rumored and confirmed to be in MK Deception. But while that is the theme of the game, I worry that the whole "deception" idea might get overused in the game. If every character is deceiving some other character, it'll take away from the surprise factor as well as the overall quality of the story. It's the sign of bad writing when one particular convention is used to such a degree, as has been rumored on this board. I just hope that not all of the rumors are true.
I think the idea of side switching is interesting, as I've previously said. The rumors have Kitana and Liu Kang being evil for example, and Kabal of the Black Dragon being good. I don't think I like Kabal being good, not because I'm anti-good or anything, but because he's always struck me as a loner type. I thought he'd break away from the Black Dragon, maybe even turn on them and hunt them himself. Not to side with good or anything, but because of some sort of vendetta from his past perhaps.
One thing I really do like though is the shaky yet intricate alliance system that has developed in the MK series, which is now much bigger in MK:D.
Ermac and Kenshi (The telekinetics)
Sub Zero and Smoke (The Lin Kuei)
DK, Hotaru, Kitana, and Baraka (The DK's side)
Dairou and Havik (Chaos)
Baraka and Mileena (The toothy grins)
Kabal, Kobra and Kira (The Black Dragon)
Rayden, Liu Kang, Bo Rai Cho, etc (the good guys)
And there are even more alliances and sub-alliances within those. It's an amazing system which of course enables a lot of backstabbing. You've got the wild cards like Nightwolf, Scorpion, etc, which also makes the story interesting. As long as they keep the betrayals surprising and interesting, and not overuse certain conventions, as I have said, things should be great!!

I'm almost certain that Li Mei and Nightwolf will be evil once the game is through. I refuse to buy Smoke switching sides, though. Can't see it.
