Still dont get it (Raydens new look)

I still don't know why Rayden looks like that (red glowing eyes, black outfit) I know in the intro movie, rayden died sad but then he's alivesmile i'm really confused on why he looks like that. still a cool look though.

I keep coming back to mortal kombat, like an abused spouse to an alcoholic. Maybe one day the series will sober up...

Because when he died something happened to him. And now hes all bad ass and kills anyone who won't fight for earthrealm. Because hes not an elder god anymore so hes tainted i think.
