So far we have twelve confirmed characters...what do you think will be their styles and weapons, or special moves? My ideas...

Sub-Zero: He's got Dragon as shown obviously in one of the screens, so most likely he'll have Shotokan too. I hope he has some form of the Kori blade as well, since that was an excellent idea, IMO.

Scorpion: Hapkido and Pi Gua are nice staples, but I'd like to see him return with something a little more "brawler-ish." And since he's got his ninja sword on his back already, I guess that's a given.

Mileena: She's obviously got her sais, but what else? She looks like she'd fight a bit like Frost, what with very fast, very long combos and probably something a great deal like Yuan Yang.

Ermac: I have no idea on his styles...but he seems to have some kind of large polearm, maybe an axe or a hammer.

Noob Saibot: No idea...but a scythe would be pretty nice.

Nightwolf: I see him as fighting with something a little unconventional, perhaps even a made-up style like Drahmin's were (but better excecuted of course.) He could have a peculiar, ethereal weapon that switched from hatchet to spear to bow and would only be fully visible upon impact...a little like Necrid from SCII.

Ashrah: She seems to be taking Raiden's place, so something very traditional and formal would fit well, as well as the staff.

Sindel: She reminds me, again, of Ivy from SCII. Something showy and dominatrix-like would be fitting. Also, a whip would be a great weapon. Or even her own enchanted hair!!!

Kabal: Seems to be like he'd not fight with anything formal or honorable. Something powerful, simple, not too outstanding. Oh, and of COURSE the hookswords.

more later....

Ermac looks like he might have Shuai Chiao (Hsu Hao's first style) in a few PSM pics.

By the way, is it just me, or does it seem like the fighting styles used by female MKDA characters wouldn't fit male characters, and vice versa?

I think the shuriken-looking thing is a part of the background.

I think Sub-Zero might have a different style than either Shotokan or Kori Blade. I think he needs something new. I think Sindel should use a Broadsword. Kabal would be cool with a Chainsaw style.

Someone should use either a Staff, but in a Stick fighting manner. Aka Invincible pole fighter, or Once Upon a Time in China 2, not the lil pokes and jabs Raiden had in MK:DA, although his long combo looked great. It would be great to see Nun-Chucka done properly, and I thought the Kali Sticks Sonya had were great too, I hope someone retains those.

It does seem like Sub-Zero still has Dragon and Shotokan but I think that he should have his own personalized style in place of Shotokan while someone like Kenshi could have Shotokan. Like I said in another thread, I'd like Sub-Zero's style to have moves from Dim Mak, Shuai Chiao, Chin Na and a couple of others.

For Scorpion, I'd like him to keep Hapkido but it make a lot harder to master. It should also have the grappling moves from Jujitsu in it. I like Pi Gua Zhang but I think he should have a different style instead. It really does seem like he'll keep his Ninja Swords style though.

I'd like to see Mileena with Kunoichi-Ryu Ninjitsu which is like a style of Ninjitsu especially suited for women. Her other style can be the fierce Northern Shaolin style of Fu Jow Pai which Nitara had in MK: DA.

I hope that Kenshi will keep Tai Chi Chuan but it needs to be faster and more fluid. I'm not sure about his second style though Shotokan might be good for him. As for his weapon style, he should either keep his Katana, a sword of power or a Tai Chi sword, a sword of speed and fluidity.

Ermac should have Xing Yi Quan which is an internal martial art style from China. Kano had this style in MK: DA but it was not accuractely represented. Like Tai Chi Chuan, it should be fast and fluid and be internal. It means "Form-Mind Boxing" and it kind of goes well with Ermac if you know what I mean. wink

As for Noob Saibot, he should have Koga-Ryu Ninjitsu which is one of the first 3 main styles of ancient Ninjitsu. He should have a Kusarigama as his weapon style and it can be very useful if mastered. wink

Shang Tsung should keep all of his styles. In Snake style, he could use his snake-shaped hands to strike at pressure points to paralyze his opponents. In Crane style, he could use acrobatic moves for evasion and use crane beak-shaped hands to poke the opponent, namely their eyes. tongue
