He's not Noob Saibot. Sub-Zero comes across Noob at a certain part in SM.

No. During the game you actually encounter Sub-Zero chasing after Noob Saibot in the Netherealm (I think it was the Netherealm, I could be wrong). So no, he is not the original Sub-Zero.

Shaolin Monks is based on Mortal Kombat II. It is an adventure version of the heroes' journey to Outworld to confront Shao Kahn after he sent Baraka and his Tarkatan hordes to destroy the Wu Shi Academy.

This however, was an elaborate trap and Shao Kahn wanted to bring the heroes to Outworld to defeat them in a second Mortal Kombat tournament after Shang Tsung lost the first tournament.

This is what we see in the opening sequence. We see Liu Kang whooping Shang Tsung's ass, then Shang Tsung retreating back to Outworld, where, out of desperation to keep his life, he suggested to the Outworld Emperor, Shao Kahn, that he may lure the heroes to Outworld for a second tournament. Hence why you verse Shang Tsung, Kintaro, and eventually Shao Kahn at the end of adventure mode.

So it is based on MKII, but the game starts right at the end of Mortal Kombat I (hence the opening sequence), since the events of MKII are based pretty much a few hours after MKI.

I hope this answers your question.

It seems that all his Sub-Zero/Noob Saibot questions have been answered, so I'm going to close the thread.
